Mellor Maxima
The Mellor Maxima is a step-entrance minibus bodywork produced by Mellor Coachcraft on Iveco Daily chassis since 2016. With a capacity of up to 31 passenger seats, eight wheelchair bays or a combination of both, the Maxima is aimed at local authorities providing accessible transport and community transport. The Maxima was launched in 2016, in response to the discontinuation of the popular Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis and its minibus variants in the United Kingdom, such as the Plaxton Beaver. Intended to fill the same market, the Maxima features a flat floor interior which is accessed by a stepped entry at the front or a rear wheelchair lift. The Maxima was initially only available on diesel Iveco Daily chassis; in 2021, a fully-electric variant known as the Mellor Maxima E23 was announced, but has not yet entered production. High-floor
High-floor describes the interior flooring of commuter vehicles primarily used in public transport such as trains, light rail cars and other rail vehicles, along with buses and trolleybuses. Interior floor height is generally measured above the street surface or above the top of the rail. An electric bus is a bus that is propelled using electric motors as opposed to an internal combustion engine. Electric buses can store the needed electricity on-board, or be fed continuously from an external source. Plaxton Beaver
The Plaxton Beaver, originally known as the Reeve Burgess Beaver, is a minibus body built by Plaxton. It was built at the Pilsley, North East Derbyshire, Pilsley, Derbyshire factory of Plaxton's Reeve Burgess subsidiary from 1987 to 1991, at Plaxton's main Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Scarborough factory from 1991, and from 1995 at Anston in South Yorkshire. The Beaver has been built mainly on Mercedes-Benz van-derived minibus chassis such as the Mercedes-Benz T2, 709D and 811D, and was also built on the Dodge 50 Series, Renault S56 and S75 until 1992. Rare examples were also built on Iveco Bus, Iveco 49.10 chassis. The Beaver 2, built on Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis, replaced the original Beaver in December 1996, and was still in production in 2007. The Mercedes-Benz Vario (model designation BM667/668/670) is a full-size commercial heavy van manufactured by Mercedes-Benz between 1996 and 2013.
