Meliha İsmailoğlu
Meliha İsmailoğlu Diken (born Meliha Smajlović, 17 September 1993 in Gradačac) is a Bosnian-Turkish volleyball player. She is tall at . Currently, she plays for Fenerbahçe. İsmailoğlu is a member of the Turkey women's national volleyball team. Career Clubs The daughter of a former basketball player, she too aspired to become a basketball player. However, due to lack of a women's basketball team in her hometown, she chose playing volleyball. She began her sports career at the age of eight in the club Kula Gradacac in her hometown. In 2009 and 2011, she was named "Player of the Year". In the summer time, she played also beach volleyball in Bosnia Herzegovina. In 2011, İsmailoğlu was invited to Turkey by the Ankara-based İller Bankası. In May 2014, she signed with Fenerbahçe. She transferred to Eczacıbaşı VitrA in 2017 and Vakıfbank in 2019. Gradačac ( sr-cyrl, Градачац, ) is a city located in the Tuzla Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Islamic Solidarity Games
The Islamic Solidarity Games ( ar, ألعاب التضامن الإسلامي) is a multinational, multi-sport event. The Games involve the elite athletes of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation who compete in a variety of sports. The Solidarity Games were initially created to strengthen Islamic camaraderie and reinforce the values of Islam, primarily to the youth. The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) and the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the organization that is responsible for the direction and control of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The ISSF strives to improve Islamic solidarity, promote Islamic identity in sports and help reduce discrimination toward Muslims. Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two or more players on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court. Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball across the net, and individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively except after a touch off an attempted block. 2014 Women's European Volleyball League
The 2014 Women's European Volleyball League was the sixth edition of the annual Women's European Volleyball League, which featured women's national volleyball teams from eight European countries. Turkey defeated Germany 6–2 in the final, which was played over two legs, to capture their first title. Format This year saw no final four tournament. The Women's European Volleyball League is a continental volleyball competition for senior women's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship
The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was held in Ankara, Turkey, from 12 to 19 August 2015. This was the second edition of the tournament. Competition formula The competition format will see the 12 teams split into two pools of six teams playing in round robin format. The semifinals will feature the top two teams from each pool. FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was the world championship of volleyball for female players under the age of 23 organized by Fédération Internationale de Volleyball ( FIVB). The first edition was staged in 2013 in Mexicali and Tijuana, Mexico and tournaments were played every two years until 2017. The last tournament was hosted by Turkey in Ankara and won by Brazil. FIVB did not announce the 2019 edition of the U23 tournament, later declaring that "As per decision of May 2019 FIVB Board of Administration, the U23 WCH has been abolished."
