Melbourne Tierney
Melbourne Tierney (3 December 1923 – 27 November 2014) was a Welsh professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s. Starting with his home village club Tumble RFC after the second world war, Tierney turned professional after the 1946 West Wales Cup final against Amman United RFC at Stradey Park, Llanelli. He played at representative level for Wales national rugby league team, Wales, and at club level for Broughton Rangers, Belle Vue Rangers and Rochdale Hornets, as a , i.e. number 11 or 12, during the era of contested Scrum (rugby)#Rugby league, scrums. Tumble, Carmarthenshire
Tumble ( cy, Tymbl), is a village situated south of Cross Hands near the towns of Carmarthen and Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Tumble, along with Cross Hands is part of the Community (Wales), community of Llannon.Davies (2008), pg 503. The population, including Drefach was 4,302. History Tumble developed in the 19th century to house the anthracite miners who were employed at the nearby Dynant Fach and Great Mountain collieries. Tumble was once served by Tumble Railway Station, a station built on the Llanelly and Mynydd Mawr Railway to allow the transportation of coal from the local mines to Llanelli Docks. Warrington () is a town and unparished area in the borough of the same name in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Mersey.
