Mehdi Khodabakhshi
Mehdi Khodabakhshi ( fa, مهدی خدابخشی, sr-cyr, Махди Ходабахши; born April 21, 1991, in Tonekabon, Iran) is an Iranian-born Serbian Taekwondo practitioner. He was two times world champion, in 2014 and in 2022. Career He represented Iran until 2019 when he switched allegiance by representing Serbia through naturalisation. He has been involved in the sport for more than 15 years. He has beaten several Taekwondo notables such as Aaron Cook and Steven Lopez and was the world champion. Also he additionally won the gold medal in the welterweight division in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon. Aaron Arthur Cook (born 2 January 1991) is a taekwondo athlete who has represented Great Britain (the nation of his birth), the Isle of Man, and Moldova. He has been ranked the number one in the men's −80 kg division on several occasions. He is a three-time European champion having won the −80 kg title at the European Taekwondo Championships in 2010, 2012 representing Great Britain and 2014 representing the Isle of Man, and was the world junior champion in the −78 kg division in 2008. 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games
The 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games was an international sporting event held in Palembang, Indonesia from 22 September to 1 October 2013. The 2009 event, originally scheduled to take place in Iran, and later re-scheduled for April 2010, was cancelled after a dispute arose between Iran and the Arab countries. Host selection Indonesia was announced as the host for the Games on April 2011 with Pekanbaru, Riau, as the host city. The Games were then relocated to Jakarta citing lack of standard in some venues combined with a corruption case involving Governor of Riau, Rusli Zainal.
