"Meat Is Murder" is the 21st and penultimate episode of the 33rd season of the American animated television series '' The Simpsons'', and the 727th episode overall. It aired in the United States on Fox on May 15, 2022. The episode was directed by Bob Anderson and written by Michael Price. Plot In 1972, Krusty the Clown is kicked out of a coffee house for not being funny enough and seeks work elsewhere. He finds himself the new mascot of Grampa and his friend Gus Redfield's fast food restaurant Go n' Try which becomes a success after Krusty is hired, but after he demands more money the two fire him and as revenge he opens his own fast food franchise. Gus vows revenge on him while Grampa cowardly retreats. In the present, Krusty is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his fast food chain which everyone in town including the Simpson family attends. Bob Anderson (director)
Bob Anderson is an American animation director on ''The Simpsons''. He also contributed additional sequence direction on ''The Simpsons Movie''. After high school, Bob Anderson enrolled at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art to pursue an education in animation. Before Bob graduated from The Joe Kubert School, he began his professional career. Hired by Broadcast Arts in New York City, he started work on a variety of commercials. In 1990, Anderson moved to Los Angeles to work as an assistant director for ''The Simpsons''. The thirty-third season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'' premiered on Fox on September 26, 2021 and ended on May 22, 2022. The season consisted of twenty-two episodes. On March 3, 2021, the season was ordered alongside a 34th season. Production Development Al Jean stated that he would showrun at least four episodes of the season, "plus something special." The premiere episode, "The Star of the Backstage" is "like a Broadway musical of an episode with wall to wall music." The Treehouse of Horror episode of the season, "Treehouse of Horror XXXII", features five segments instead of the usual three.
