McMillan, Oklahoma
McMillan is an unincorporated community in Marshall County, Oklahoma, United States. McMillan is located south of U.S. Route 70 in the western part of the county, west of Madill. A post office was established at McMillan, Indian Territory on March 28, 1892. It was named for Joseph E.A. McMillan, first postmaster. At the time of its founding, McMillan was located in Pickens County, Chickasaw Nation Pickens County was a political subdivision of the Chickasaw Nation in the Indian Territory from 1855, prior to Oklahoma being admitted as a state in 1907. The U.S. state of Oklahoma has 77 counties. It is ranked 20th in size and 17th in the number of counties, between Mississippi with 82 counties and Arkansas with 75 counties. Oklahoma originally had seven counties (Logan, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Canadian, Kingfisher, Payne, and Beaver) when it was first organized as the Oklahoma Territory. Marshall County is a county located on the south central border of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 15,840. Its county seat is Madill.
