Colin McCredie (born 8 June 1972 in Dumbarton, Scotland) is a Scottish actor, best known for his role as DC Stuart Fraser in the STV drama ''Taggart'', Nick Morrison in the BBC Scotland Soap Opera ''River City'' and in the films '' Shallow Grave'', '' Night is Day'' and ''The Missing Postman''. Biography Colin grew up in Perth and began acting as a child at Perth Theatre before attending the Scottish Youth Theatre. He now appears in CBeebies' Woolly and Tig with his real daughter. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and graduated in 1993. He joined ''Taggart'' aged 23 and appeared in over 75 episodes from 1995 to 2010. George McCredie
George McCredie (1 January 1859 – 4 February 1903) was an Australian politician. He was born at Pyrmont, New South Wales, Australia and attended Fort Street Public School before becoming an apprentice carpenter at the age of fourteen. He worked in northern Queensland for the Australasian Steam Navigation Company before returning to Sydney to work as a consulting engineer. After a world tour in 1883, he lived at Guildford by 1891, becoming an alderman on Prospect and Sherwood Municipal Council, and was the mayor from 4 February 1892 until 20 February 1895. During 1891 he designed and built Linnwood, his home at Guildford. He was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as a Free Trade member for Central Cumberland at the 1893 by-election. Nancy McCredie (February 5, 1945 – May 1, 2021) was a Canadian female track and field athlete. During her athletic career, she won three gold medals at the Pan American Games and one bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. McCredie was awarded the Velma Springstead Trophy as the best Canadian female athlete of the year in 1963. Career McCredie claimed two gold medals at the 1963 Pan American Games in Brazil and was awarded the Velma Springstead Trophy. McCredie also represented her native country of Canada in two events ( discus and shot put) at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Nellie (Nell) McCredie (1901—1968) was an Australian architect and potter. One of her works Uanda is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. Walt McCredie
Walter Henry McCredie (November 9, 1876 – July 29, 1934) was an American professional baseball outfielder and manager. McCredie played for the Brooklyn Superbas of the National League and managed in the minor leagues for 18 seasons, mostly for the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League (PCL). McCredie began his professional baseball career in 1897. He earned a law degree in 1900, intending to transition into a career as a lawyer, but chose to continue in baseball instead. He played for the Superbas for part of the 1903 season and joined Portland in 1904. He became their player-manager in 1905. McCredie managed Portland for 17 seasons and also managed the Salt Lake City Bees of the PCL for one season. He was posthumously inducted into the PCL Hall of Fame. William Wallace "W. W." McCredie (April 27, 1862 – May 10, 1935) was a U.S. Representative from Washington. Early years Born in Montrose, Pennsylvania, McCredie moved to Iowa with his parents, who settled on a farm near Manchester in Delaware County. He attended the common schools, going on to graduate from Cornell College in 1885. He taught school at Parkersburg, Iowa from 1885 to 1889. He attended the law school of the University of Iowa in 1889 and 1890, then moved to Portland, Oregon in 1890 and completed the study of law. McCredie Springs are hot springs and a former resort in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located near Oregon Route 58 (OR 58), east of Oakridge, and east of Eugene, within the Willamette National Forest. It is known for the nearby natural hot springs along Salt Creek. History Frank Warner, a trapper, came upon a series of hot springs along Salt Creek and settled near them in 1878. He lived in the cabin he built there until he was evicted by the newly formed United States Forest Service (USFS) in the early 1900s. In 1911, John Hardin filed a mineral claim on the land, ostensibly because of the salt found there, but he actually wanted to build a resort on the land leased from the USFS. He named the place Winino Springs and opened a hotel in 1914.
