Maziya S
Maziya Sports and Recreation Club is a Maldivian professional football club based in Malé. They compete in the Dhivehi Premier League, the country's top division. The club was formed in 1996 and was promoted to the first division for the first time in 2006. History The club was founded on 23 January 1996. The club is one of the most successful clubs in Maldives, having won the top tier domestic league thrice in 2016, 2019–20, and 2020–21. In the 2022 AFC Cup groups-stages, Maziya witnessed a 1–0 defeat to Bashundhara Kings, but won their second match against Gokulam Kerala. They were knocked out of the tournament after a 5–2 defeat in the last match to Indian Super League side ATK Mohun Bagan. The National Football Stadium ( dv, ގަލޮޅު ފުޓްބޯޅަ ދަނޑު), also known as the Galolhu Rasmee Dhandu Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Malé, Maldives. 2015 President's Cup (Maldives)
The 2015 President's Cup is the 65th season of the President's Cup. New Radiant Sports Club are the defending champions, having beaten Eagles in last season's final in extra time. Cornelius Stewart (born 7 October 1989) is a Saint Vincentian professional footballer who currently plays as a forward or winger for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the Bangladesh Football Premier League. Ismail Mahfooz
Ismail Mahfooz also known as Imma Mahfooz is a former Maldivian international footballer and is the current head coach of the Maldives national football team under a caretaker capacity. International career Mahfooz played for the Maldives national football team. He was part of the squad that participated at the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Coaching career Maziya S&RC Mahfooz served as head coach of the Maziya Sports and Recreation Club from 2006–2014. Maziya under his watch managed to win the Maldives FA Cup in 2012. Marjan Sekulovski ( mk, Марјан Секуловски; born 13 March 1973) is a football head coach from the Republic of Macedonia, who is currently head coach of FK Pelister in the Macedonian First Football League. Playing career Marjan Sekulovski played for Pelister, FK Prespa, FK Novaci, FK Bitola, FK Borec and FK Napredok among other clubs as a football player. Mohamed Umair (born 3 July 1988) is a Maldivian professional footballer. In his career Umair has played as a defender, midfielder, and forward. International career Umair made his debut for Maldives on 8 October 2007, in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Yemem and later he was substituted for Mukhthar Naseer in the 60th minute at the Ali Muhsin Al-Muriasi Stadium. He has represented his country at the 2011 SAFF Championship and the 2013 SAFF Championship. In the latter tournament he scored a goal from a free kick against Bhutan to tie the score up at 2–2. The 2016 President's Cup is the 66th season of the President's Cup. Maziya Sports and Recreation Club are the defending champions, having beaten New Radiant Sports Club in last season's final. This is the second tournament under its current tournament format. Participating teams Final draw Venues Background Format The first round, or group stage, was a competition between the 6 teams divided among two groups of three, where each group engaged in a round-robin tournament within itself. The two highest ranked teams in each group advanced to the knockout stage. Teams were awarded three points for a win and one for a draw. When comparing teams in a group over-all result came before head-to-head. For any match after the group stage, a draw after 90 minutes of regulation time was followed by two 15 minute periods of extra time to determine a winner.
