Mazanderan TV ( Mazanderani: تبرستون کانال meaning channel of Tapuria fa, سیمای طبرستان meaning television of Mazanderan) also Mazandaran Broadcast Network, is a local bilingual IRIB television channel, broadcast in the provinces of Mazanderan and Golestan, some parts of the Semnan and Gilan provinces of Iran, and the Balkan province of Turkmenistan. History Early establishment of an independent TV in Mazanderan goes back to the Pahlavi era, in 1971, the first broadcast was installed in the town of Sari, in 1975 television activity developed, and after the revolution of Iran, broadcasts were installed in other cities of Mazandaran (including Gorgan). SDTV
Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. Balkan Region ( tk, Balkan welaýaty, Балкан велаяты) is the westernmost of the five regions of Turkmenistan. Clockwise from north it borders Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan (north); two provinces of Turkmenistan (east), Iran (south), and the Caspian Sea (west). The capital city is Balkanabat, formerly known as Nebit Dag. The region's boundaries are identical to those of the former ''Krasnovodsk Oblast' '', a Soviet-era province of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic. Semnan (Persian: , ); is the capital city of Semnan Province, situated on the alluvial fan of the Golrudbar creek in north central Iran, 216 km east of Tehran and 640 km west of Mashhad. Tabaristan or Tabarestan ( fa, طبرستان, Ṭabarestān, or mzn, تبرستون, Tabarestun, ultimately from Middle Persian: , ''Tapur(i)stān''), was the name applied to a mountainous region located on the Caspian coast of northern Iran. It corresponded to the present-day province of Mazandaran, which became the predominant name of the area from the 11th-century onwards.
