Jeanne Barseghian
Jeanne Barseghian () is a French politician who is the mayor of Strasbourg and has been a member of its city council. She has been a member of Europe Ecology – The Greens (EELV) since 2013. She was elected in 2014 to the City Council of Strasbourg, and to the Eurométropole de Strasbourg Council. She was elected mayor of Strasbourg after she successfully led the EELV list in the 2020 municipal election there. Early life Barseghian was born in Suresnes to a French family of Armenian descent. Her great-grandfather was the Armenian intellectual , and her great-grandmother was the writer and Member of the Armenian Parliament Perchuhi Partizpanyan-Barseghyan. Barseghian studied law at Paris Nanterre University, specializing first in Franco-German law. Rudolf Schwander
Rudolf Schwander (23 December 1868 – 25 December 1950) was a German politician and social reformer. He was, among other things, the Mayor of Strasbourg and High Commissioner of Hesse-Nassau. Life Born in Alsace, Rudolf Schwander was the son of Anne Barbe Schwander and, according to widespread rumour, the Mayors of Colmar, Camille Schlumberger. After attending elementary school and special school, Schwander first worked as a clerk and office assistant in his native town of Colmar, but graduated from high school at the same time. Between 1897 and 1901 he studied law and political science in Strasbourg and received his doctorate in political science with a thesis on French Poverty. He entered the city service in 1900 and took over the management of the poor and hospital administration, two years later he also became a deputy of Strasbourg. Ernest Alexandre Lauth (14 May 1803 – 24 March 1837) was a French anatomist. He was the son of anatomist Thomas Lauth (1758-1826). He studied medicine at Strasbourg, receiving his doctorate in 1824 with a thesis on lymphatic vessel The lymphatic vessels (or lymph vessels or lymphatics) are thin-walled vessels (tubes), structured like blood vessels, that carry lymph. Émile Küss
Émile Küss (1 February 1815 – 1 March 1871) was a French physician who, with Charles-Emmanuel Sédillot, performed the first recorded biopsy on a tumour. He later entered politics in Strasbourg, became mayor, and played a significant role in the decision of the city leaders to surrender to the Germans in 1870 following the Siege of Strasbourg in the Franco-Prussian War.
