Max Fricke (born 29 March 1996) is an Australian speedway rider. He is a World team champion, twice Australian champion and four times Australian Under-21 Champion. Edinburgh Monarchs
The Edinburgh Monarchs are a Scottish Speedway team, currently based in Armadale. They compete in the SGB Championship, racing on Friday nights during the Speedway season. The club is run by a board of directors, chaired by Alex Harkess. The club also runs a National Development League team called the Armadale Devils. History The club was founded in 1928 and operated at Marine Gardens, Portobello in 1929, 1930, 1931, 1938 and 1939. A few team matches were staged in 1929 and an Edinburgh team competed in the Northern League in 1930. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . The 2012 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 67th edition of the official World Championship and the 18th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, deciding the FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the twelfth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company. The series began on 31 March in Auckland and finish on 6 October in Torun. Jack Holder (born 23 March 1996) in Appin, New South Wales is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Sheffield Tigers in the British Elite League and Apator Toruń in the Polish Ekstraliga. Jack is a World team champion and his brother Chris Holder is a former World individual champion. Career A successful rider in Australia, he came to England and first rode for Plymouth Gladiators in 2015. After two seasons, he rode for both Peterborough Panthers and Poole Pirates in 2017, helping Poole to win the Elite Shield. Jack Holder finished in sixth place at the 2017 Speedway Under-21 World Championship and 4th in the Jason Crump Classic Cup - considered a warm-up for the Australian Senior Solo Championship. Gillman Speedway (sometimes called Gillman Speedway Stadium) is a purpose built, long motorcycle speedway located in the Adelaide suburb of Gillman in South Australia. Loxford Park Speedway
The Loxford Park Speedway is a motorcycle speedway track located in the town of Loxford near in New South Wales (NSW). It is home to the Kurri Kurri Speedway Club and the Kurri Cobras. History Construction of the track commenced in 2008 with the speedway opening later that year giving NSW a second full-time motorcycle speedway (the other being the Gosford Speedway, though there are also other tracks including the Nepean Speedway in north west Sydney and the rarely used Newcastle Showgrounds). Loxford park also has a junior track built on the infield of the main track with the junior track joining onto the main straight and sharing the start-finish line.
