MaxNormal.TV (formerly Max Normal) was a South African music group that formed in 2001 and eventually evolved into Die Antwoord. The group's name was taken from a comic book character in the Judge Dredd comic of the same name. Early days Watkin "Waddy" Tudor Jones was part of the South African hip-hop scene for many years, fronting such acts as The Original Evergreen, whilst Simon "Sibot" Ringrose and Sean Ou Tim were household names in the electronic music scene. Mark Buchanan and Sean Ou Tim were veterans of the music industry, each being involved with numerous experimental, and many successful South African bands over the years. In the year prior to the formation of Max Normal, Jones released his debut solo album ''Memoirs of a Clone,'' which featured the band on some of the tracks. Anri du Toit, known professionally as Yolandi Visser (stylised as ¥o-Landi Vi$$er), is a South African rapper. She is the female vocalist in the rap-rave group Die Antwoord. Her partner in the group is Ninja, Watkin Tudor Jones. Visser appeared in the 2015 Neill Blomkamp film '' Chappie''. Early life As a baby, du Toit was adopted by clergyman, Reverend Ben du Toit, and his wife. She had an adoptive older brother, Leon, who died in 2015. Growing up, she has said she felt like she did not fit in or belong anywhere, and describes herself as 'a little punk' who frequently got into fistfights. At 16, du Toit was sent to a boarding school, Menlopark High School, nine hours away from her family's home where she says that she blossomed among other creative and artistic-minded people. Watkin Tudor Jones (born 26 September 1974), better known by his stage names Ninja and Max Normal, is a South African rapper, songwriter, record producer, performance artist, and director. Jones found international success as a member of Die Antwoord, with Yolandi Visser. He was formerly a member of Max Normal and The Constructus Corporation. Jones also has had a number of acting roles, including a self-styled role as Ninja in the 2015 Neill Blomkamp film '' Chappie''. Early life Jones was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1974. The Constructus Corporation
The Constructus Corporation were a South African electronic music group. Formation of the band Following the breakup of Watkin Tudor Jones' project Max Normal in 2002, Jones moved from Johannesburg to Cape Town and began collaborating with DJ Dope of Krushed & Sorted and Felix Laband on the music for a multi-media project he had conceptualized, involving a graphic novel with a soundtrack and live show.
