Mauricio Jaramillo
Mauricio Jaramillo (born 1952) is the ''nom de guerre'' of Jaime Alberto Parra, known as El Médico or Wilson Valderrama Cano a former high-ranking guerrilla commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), also known as ''El Médico'' (the medic). Jaramillo became a member of the FARC Secretariat in March 2008, replacing Iván Ríos. According to reports by Colombian authorities, Jaramillo was responsible for the set up of medical facilities in the middle of jungle for the FARC, as well as setting up medical and sanitation training for FARC combatants. He was also the personal doctor of ailing FARC commander Manuel Marulanda. La Macarena, Meta
La Macarena is a town and municipality in the Meta Department, located about 280 km (170 m) south of Bogotá, Colombia. The town was included in the former El Caguan DMZ. Anti-revisionists
Anti-revisionism is a position within Marxism–Leninism which emerged in the 1950s in opposition to the reforms of Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. Where Khrushchev pursued an interpretation that differed from his predecessor Joseph Stalin, the anti-revisionists within the international communist movement remained dedicated to Stalin's ideological legacy and criticized the Soviet Union under Khrushchev and his successors as state capitalist and social imperialist. The term Stalinism is also used to describe these positions, but it is often not used by its supporters who opine that Stalin simply synthesized and practiced orthodox Marxism and Leninism. Because different political trends trace the historical roots of revisionism to different eras and leaders, there is significant disagreement today as to what constitutes anti-revisionism. Miraflores, Guaviare
Miraflores is a town and municipality in the Guaviare Department, Colombia. The municipality was created on February 8, 1990. In August 1998 a Colombian National Police Base was overrun by the FARC guerrillas and later rebuilt and reoccupied in February 2004. The population of Guaviare in 1993 was approximately 14,381. Geography Miraflores is located at N 01°22'14" - W 71°57'41" and 180 meters over sea level, approximately 150 km from the capital of the Department of Guaviare, San Jose del Guaviare near the Itilla and Unilla Rivers. Mitú
Mitú () is the capital town of the department of Vaupés in Colombia. It is a small town located in South eastern Colombia in the Amazon Basin. Founded in 1936, Mitú lies next to the Vaupés River at 180 meters above sea level. It is where the core of the services (transport and trade) are provided to the Vaupés Department.
