Maurice Williams (wide Receiver)
Maurice "Moe" Anthony Sherrod Williams (born November 7, 1987) is an American football wide receiver for the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League (NAL). Early years Born the son of Monica Jones, Maurice was one of the most highly touted recruits coming out of Pennsylvania in the 2007 Recruiting Class. Maurice was a Four Star recruit by Scout.com and was ranked as high as the #13 WR in the Nation, even though he was a Quarterback at Erie, PA Strong Vincent High School where he was a Class AAA All-State Defensive Back and an All-Region QB for the Colonels. He earned Local, Regional, and National attention, being named to the SuperPrep All-American Team, and was selected to play in the Pennsylvania Football Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game. The Portland Steel were a professional arena football team based in Portland, Oregon and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The team started as the Portland Thunder, joining the AFL in 2014 as an expansion team along with the Los Angeles Kiss. The team played their home games at the Moda Center. They were known as the Thunder until the franchise went under league ownership in 2016 and became the Steel. The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) was a professional indoor football league that played four seasons from 2012 to 2015. Like the Lone Star Football League, the PIFL was mainly composed of teams formerly part of Southern Indoor Football League (five former SIFL teams and one expansion team in total). Despite the name, this PIFL had no connections to the original Professional Indoor Football League. History The PIFL began in 2012 with six teams in the southeastern United States, five of which joined from the Southern Indoor Football League, and the expansion Knoxville NightHawks. On March 10, 2012, the Richmond Raiders defeated the Columbus Lions, 64–58, in the first ever PIFL game. The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) was a regional professional indoor football league that began its inaugural season on February 18, 2011 as the Ultimate Indoor Football League before playing as the United Indoor Football League in 2012, then switched back to "Ultimate" for the 2013 season. After the 2014 season, the league merged with X-League Indoor Football. History On February 18, 2011, the first-ever UIFL game was played between the Saginaw Sting and the Eastern Kentucky Drillers. PennWest Edinboro is a campus of Pennsylvania Western University, a multi-campus public university in Pennsylvania. Located in the town of Edinboro, the campus has more than 4,600 enrolled students.
