Maurice Wilkes Award
The Association for Computing Machinery SIGARCH Maurice Wilkes Award is given annually for outstanding contribution to computer architecture by a young computer scientist or engineer; "young" defined as having a career that started within the last 20 years. The award is named after Maurice Wilkes, a computer scientist credited with several important developments in computing such as microprogramming. The award is presented at the International Symposium on Computer Architecture. It was founded in 1947 and is the world's largest scientific and educational computing society. Anant Agarwal is an Indian computer architecture researcher. Sarita Adve
Sarita Vikram Adve is the Richard T. Cheng Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests are in computer architecture and systems, parallel computing, and power and reliability-aware systems. Contributions In the areas of memory consistency models for multiprocessors, Adve co-developed the memory models for the C++ and Java programming languages, which are based on her early work on data-race-free models.
