Maurice A. FitzGerald
Maurice A. FitzGerald (January 9, 1897 – August 25, 1951) was a Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician from Queens, New York City. Life FitzGerald was born in Brooklyn, New York (state), New York in 1897. By the age of 14 he began working as a postal clerk. He soon moved to South Ozone Park, Queens and became involved in southern Queens civic organizations by the 1920s. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Queens Co., 5th D.) in 152nd New York State Legislature, 1929, 153rd New York State Legislature, 1930, 154th New York State Legislature, 1931, 155th New York State Legislature, 1932, 156th New York State Legislature, 1933, 157th New York State Legislature, 1934, 158th New York State Legislature, 1935, 159th New York State Legislature, 1936 and 160th New York State Legislature, 1937. Sunnyside, Queens
Sunnyside is a neighborhood in the western portion of the New York City borough of Queens. It shares borders with Hunters Point and Long Island City to the west, Astoria to the north, Woodside to the east and Maspeth to the south. It contains the Sunnyside Gardens Historic District, one of the first planned communities in the United States. The name "Sunnyside" originates with the Bragaw family, French Huguenots who had purchased the land in 1713 and named their estate "Sunnyside Hill". Sunnyside was a rural hamlet mostly consisting of small farms and marshland. It was incorporated into Long Island City in 1870, and developed into a bedroom community after the Queensboro Bridge was completed in 1909. Middle Village is a mainly residential neighborhood in the central section of the borough of Queens, New York City, bounded to the north by the Long Island Expressway, to the east by Woodhaven Boulevard, to the south by Cooper Avenue and the former LIRR Montauk Branch railroad tracks, and to the west by Mount Olivet Cemetery. A small trapezoid-shaped area bounded by Mt.
