Matur Maker
Matur Marial Maker (born 1 January 1998) is a South Sudanese-born Australian basketball player who last played for the Canterbury Rams of the New Zealand National Basketball League (New Zealand), National Basketball League (NZNBL). He moved to Australia in his childhood and played for various prep schools in Canada and the United States, before forgoing college basketball. He is the younger brother of National Basketball Association, NBA player Thon Maker and the cousin of basketball player Makur Maker. Early life Maker was born in what is now known as South Sudan on 1 January 1998 with his older brother Thon Maker. In Matur's early childhood, his uncle, a local administrator, helped the family flee to Uganda amid a Second Sudanese Civil War, civil war in their home country. 2021–22 NBL Season
The 2021–22 NBL season was the 44th season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. Second Sudanese Civil War
The Second Sudanese Civil War was a conflict from 1983 to 2005 between the central Sudanese government and the Sudan People's Liberation Army. It was largely a continuation of the First Sudanese Civil War of 1955 to 1972. Although it originated in southern Sudan, the civil war spread to the Nuba mountains and the Blue Nile.
