Matthias Osterwold
Matthias Osterwold (born 1950) is a German culture manager. Life Born in Hamburg, Osterwold studied sociology, economics and urban research in Hamburg as well as musicology in Berlin. In 1983, he was one of the founders of the "Freunde Guter Musik Berlin e.V.," an organization for the promotion of Neue Musik and is on its board of directors. Since 1994, he has been an elected member of the interest group "Rat für die Künste Berlin". Between 1999 and 2001, he was music curator at the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. For the sound art festival in Berlin, he was on the artistic direction team both in 1996 and 2006. In Berlin and Lucerne, he was co-initiator of the "Pfeifen im Walde" (1994/97) festival. From 2001 to 2014, he was artistic director of the MaerzMusik, the "Festival für aktuelle Musik" of the Berliner Festspiele. 2002 to 2004, he sat on the jury of the "Hauptstadtkulturfonds". Neue Musik (English ''new music'', French ''nouvelle musique'') is the collective term for a wealth of different currents in composed Western art music from around 1910 to the present. ZKM Center For Art And Media Karlsruhe
The ZKM , Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (until March 2016: ZKM Center for Art and Media Technology), a cultural institution, was founded in 1989. and since 1997 is located in a listed industrial building in Karlsruhe, Germany, a former munitions factory. The Berliner Festspiele (German for Berlin Festivals) are a series of festivals, art exhibitions, and other cultural events organized all year long by a common organization in Berlin. Terry Fox (artist)
Terry Alan Fox (1943 – 14 October 2008) was an American Conceptual artist known for his work in performance art, video, and sound. He was of the first generation conceptual artists and he was a central participant in the West Coast performance art, video and Conceptual Art movements of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Fox was active in San Francisco and in Europe, living in Europe in the latter portion of his life. Biography Fox was in 1943 born in Seattle, Washington. At the age of seventeen in 1960, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease. His Hodgkin’s Disease was later referencing the cycles of illness and wellness in several artworks. Volker Straebel
Volker Straebel (born 1969) is a German musicologist and composer and performer of experimental music. Life Straebel grew up in Berlin (West) where he was born. He studied musicology, philosophy and library science at the Technische Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Magister Artium). As music journalist, among others for ''Der Tagesspiegel'' (1996–2001) and the '' Berliner Seiten der Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung'' (2001–2002), he documented contemporary music and sound art in Berlin.
