Matthew Lloyd
Matthew James Lloyd (born 16 April 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer, who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A highly decorated full-forward, Lloyd's AFL's honours include being the eighth all-timleading goalkickerin the history of AFL/VFL, with three Coleman Medals as leading goalkicker in the league, AFL life membership, as well as winning both the Mark of the Year and Goal of the Year awards. Among his representative honours are five All-Australian selections, three times representing the Victoria State of Origin team, as well as twice representing Australia in International rules football. AFL Rising Star
The AFL Rising Star is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best young player in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the year. It was first presented in the 1993 season, and was won by Nathan Buckley, playing for the Brisbane Bears. The recipient of the AFL Rising Star has been awarded the Ron Evans Medal since 2007, named in honour of the former AFL Commission chairman following his death that year. The award was sponsored by Norwich Union Australia from its inception in 1993 until 2000. Currie ( gd, Currach, IPA: kʰuːᵲəx is a village and suburb on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland, situated south west of the city centre. John Lloyd (Australian Footballer)
John Lloyd (30 April 1945 – 1 June 2022) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career Lloyd was recruited to Carlton from Yarrawonga in the Ovens & Murray Football League. He made his debut in round four of the 1965 VFL season but played just two more games that year, in rounds 17 and 18. In 1966 he played every game from round two to 11, before a broken arm ended his season. He made 16 appearances for Carlton in 1967, including their semi-final loss to Richmond. He got a clearance to Eaglehawk in 1968 and spent two years in the Bendigo Football League club. In 1970 he began playing for Werribee and won their best and fairest award the following year. In Australian rules football, a player can score a goal by kicking the oval ball between the two central goal posts. 298 players are recognised to have scored a goal with their first kick in the sport's premier competition, the Australian Football League (AFL), known before 1990 as the Victorian Football League (VFL).
