Matthew Briggs
Matthew Anthony Briggs (born 6 March 1991) is an English-born Guyanese professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Gosport Borough and captains the Guyana national football team. Briggs began his career with Fulham, where he progressed through the club's academy from the age of ten. He made his first-team debut in May 2007, becoming the youngest player to play in the Premier League, aged 16 years and 68 days. He made 13 league appearances over eight years with the club, and 30 in all competitions. He had loan spells with a number of Football League clubs, including Leyton Orient, Peterborough United, Bristol City and Watford. He was released by Fulham in 2014, and he joined Championship side Millwall. Guyana National Football Team
The Guyana national football team, nicknamed the ''Golden Jaguars'', represents Guyana in international football and is controlled by the Guyana Football Federation. It is one of three South American nations to be a member of the Caribbean Football Union of CONCACAF alongside Suriname and French Guiana. The English Football League One (often referred to as League One for short or Sky Bet League One for sponsorship purposes, and known as the Football League One from 2004 until 2016) is the second-highest division of the English Football League and the third tier overall in the entire English football league system.
