Matteo Ciofani
Matteo Ciofani (born 26 February 1988) is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender for club Triestina. Club career Born in Avezzano, Abruzzo, Ciofani started his professional career at local side Pescara. Ciofani made his Serie B debut on 5 May 2007. He started a match that ended in 3–2 in a loss to Crotone. He followed the team towards relegated to Serie C1 and was subsequently loaned out to Serie D side Bitonto in January 2008. In the summer of 2008, Ciofani left for Serie D side RC Angolana. He made 32 league appearances for the Serie D side and then signed for Serie B side Ascoli in June 2009. On 1 November 2012, Serie B side Ternana announced they had signed Ciofani until June 2013. On 16 August 2018, Ciofani signed with Serie B team Pescara. Avezzano ( or ; nap, Avezzàne, label=Neapolitan language, Marsicano ) is a city and ''comune'' with a population of 40,819 inhabitants, situated in the Abruzzo region, province of L'Aquila, Italy. Career Pescara Born in Avezzano, Abruzzo, Ciofani started his career at Serie B side Pescara. In August 2006, he was loaned to Serie C1 side Celano along with Alessio Spoltore. 2014–15 Serie B
The 2014–15 Serie B was the 83rd season since its establishment in 1929. A total of 22 teams contested the league: 14 of which returning from the 2013–14 season, 5 of which promoted from Prima Divisione, and three relegated from Serie A. The original concept was that due to Siena's exclusion because of financial issues and the fact such vacancy will not be filled in preparation of a future reduction to a league composed by 20 teams, this season featured 21 participant clubs instead of the usual 22. However, on 11 August 2014, Novara won an appeal and the league confirmed a 22nd team. On 29 August, the league chose Vicenza Calcio as the 22nd participant. The series have 42 weeks of play. Lega Pro Prima Divisione
Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Before the 1978–79 season there were only three leagues of professional football in Italy, the third being Serie C. In 1978, it was decided to split Serie C into Serie C1 and Serie C2. Serie C2, the fourth highest professional league in the Italian system, was also renamed in 2008 and was called Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. The 2013–14 Prima Divisione season is the thirty-sixth and final football league season of Italian Prima Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the fifth since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It is divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. The league is composed of 33 teams divided into two divisions of 16 (Lega Pro Prima Divisione A) and 17 teams (Lega Pro Prima Divisione B). Teams finishing first in the regular season, plus one team winning the playoff round from each division will be promoted to Serie B. Serie D, the fifth level of Italian Football, is usually composed of 162 teams divided into nine 18-team divisions. Special relegation of four teams from the professional leagues above Serie D after the team list had been set increased the total number of teams for this season to 166. One division will have 20 teams, two will have 19, while the other six will remain at 18 teams. The regular Serie D season started September 7, 2008. Each team will play two matches against every other team in its own division; a total of 34 matches for 18-team divisions, 36 matches for the 19-team divisions, and 38 matches for the 20-team division.
