Matt Windows
Matthew Guy Newman Windows (born 5 April 1973) is a former English cricketer. He attended Clifton College in Bristol, representing the First XI for many years as well as being a double foster cup champion at rackets. He is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler. He played First Class cricket for Gloucestershire for his entire career (1992–2006). He scored 9,103 runs including 16 Centuries. Windows played four Youth Test matches in 1992, making his debut against Pakistan and appearing three times in the Sri Lankan visit in August/September of the same year. He won the NBC Denis Compton award in 1998. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Alan Hampshire
Alan Wesley Hampshire (born 18 October 1950, in Rotherham, Yorkshire, England) is an English first-class cricketer, who played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1975. A right-handed batsman, his only first-class match came against Derbyshire at Queen's Park, Chesterfield. He scored 17 and 1 in a drawn game. He played four one day matches, scoring 3 against Lancashire, ducks against Leicestershire and Northamptonshire and not batting against Worcestershire. He also appeared for Yorkshire Second XI in 1974 and 1975, Yorkshire Under-25s in 1975, Northamptonshire Second XI in 1976 and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) from 1981 to 1983. He has now become a Hundall CC legend where he has played since 2004 with a batting average of 29.95. John Hampshire
John Harry Hampshire (10 February 1941 – 1 March 2017), also known as Jack Hampshire, was an English cricketer and umpire, who played eight Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) for England between 1969 and 1975. He played first-class cricket for Yorkshire from 1961 to 1981, and for Derbyshire from 1982 to 1984. Overseas, he was a successful captain of Tasmania in the period before the state was included in the Sheffield Shield. He was also appointed President of Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 2016, serving until his death.
