Matt Savage (poker Director)
Matt Savage is an American poker Tournament Director and is the Executive Tour Director of the World Poker Tour. He has officiated over 400 episodes of televised poker, a record, including the World Series of Poker (2002–2004) and WPT (2002-2019). He is still a TD at Commerce Casino, Bay 101, and Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Other events Savage has overseen include Ultimate Poker Challenge, Poker Dome Challenge, and King of Vegas. He has also worked with networks Fox News, FSN, Travel Channel, NBC, and ESPN and served a prominent roll in the Warner Brothers movie " Lucky You" alongside Eric Bana and Robert Duvall. In 2001, Savage founded the Tournament Directors Association (TDA) along with Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher and David Lamb. Seven-card Stud
Seven-card stud, also known as Seven-Toed Pete or Down-The-River is a variant of stud poker. Before the 2000s surge of popularity of Texas hold 'em, seven-card stud was the most widely played poker variant in home games across the United States, and in casinos in the eastern part of the country. Although seven-card stud isn't as common in casinos today, it is still played online. The game is commonly played with two to eight players, though eight may require special rules for the last cards dealt if no players fold. The 2009 World Series of Poker was the 40th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). It was held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and ran from May 27 to July 15. Sammy Farha
Ihsan "Sam" Farha ( ar, إحسان فرحة; born 1959 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a Lebanese professional poker player. He is best known for finishing as runner up in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in 2003. He has won three bracelets at the WSOP in his career. Christopher Bryan Moneymaker (born November 21, 1975) is an American poker player who won the Main Event at the 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP). His 2003 win is said to have revolutionized poker because he was the first person to become a world champion after qualifying at an online poker site. The Poker Hall of Fame is the hall of fame of professional poker in the United States. Founded in Las Vegas, it was created in 1979 by Benny Binion, the owner of the Horseshoe Casino, to preserve the names and legacies of the world's greatest poker players and to serve as a tourist attraction to his casino. Binion was known for the creative ways in which he marketed his casino. In 1949, he convinced Johnny Moss and Nick "The Greek" Dandolos to play high-stakes poker heads up where the public could watch them. In 1970, he invited a group of poker players to compete in what would be the first World Series of Poker (WSOP). A poker tournament is a tournament where players compete by playing poker. It can feature as few as two players playing on a single table (called a "heads up poker, heads-up" tournament), and as many as tens of thousands of players playing on thousands of tables. The winner of the tournament is usually the person who wins every poker chip in the game and the others are awarded places based on the time of their elimination.
