Matthew James Lloyd (born 16 April 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer, who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A highly decorated full-forward, Lloyd's AFL's honours include being the eighth all-timleading goalkickerin the history of AFL/VFL, with three Coleman Medals as leading goalkicker in the league, AFL life membership, as well as winning both the Mark of the Year and Goal of the Year awards. Among his representative honours are five All-Australian selections, three times representing the Victoria State of Origin team, as well as twice representing Australia in International rules football. Lloyd has kicked over 100 goals in a season—twice. He also belongs to the small group of players whose first kick in the AFL resulted in a goal. Matthew Lloyd (born 24 May 1983) is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2007 and 2014. Lloyd is the first Australian cyclist to win a King of the Mountains competition in a grand tour. Career He turned professional in 2007 with the team, after riding for the SouthAustralia.com–AIS team. He was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. Lloyd was released by in April 2011 for "behavioural reasons" rather than a drug problem. Lloyd signed a two-year deal with in November 2011. Matt Lloyd (footballer)
Matthew Lloyd (born 9 August 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). He now works in the travel industry. Lloyd, who grew up in Mangoplah, played originally for Mangoplah Cookardinia United. After completing his schooling in Wagga Wagga, Lloyd moved to Sydney in 1984 and joined the Swans. He won a reserves best and fairest in 1986 and made his senior debut in Sydney's Round 7 win over reigning premiers Hawthorn in the 1987 VFL season. His nine appearances in 1988 would be the most he played in a single season, and he ended his career with Sydney in 1991 after 22 games.
