Matthew Coleman Burke (born 26 March 1973) is an Australian former international rugby union player and sport presenter on Sydney's ''10 News First''. Burke was a goalkicker and regular try-scorer for the Wallabies who contributed to the team's victories in the 1999 Rugby World Cup, multiple Bledisloe Cups and Australia's sole test series win against the British & Irish Lions in 2001. When he retired from international rugby in 2004 he was the leading points scorer in the multinational Super Rugby Competition. He is the most-capped fullback and the second highest scorer for Australia in Test rugby. Early life Burke grew up in Carlingford, New South Wales, and attended at St Gerard Majella Catholic Primary School, Carlingford and St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill. Matthew Peter Burke (born 15 September 1964) is an Australian former rugby union and rugby league footballer. He later served as a Waverley Council lifeguard on Bondi Beach. Early life Born in St Margaret's Hospital in the Sydney suburb of Surry Hills., Burke attended Waverley College in Sydney's eastern suburbs, graduating in 1981. Rugby career Burke made his debut for the Australian national rugby union team on 3 November 1984. He played 23 tests for the Wallabies on the wing and scored 15 tries, including five in the 1987 Rugby World Cup. Between 1988 and 1992, he played rugby league for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Eastern Suburbs Roosters and Balmain Tigers in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership. After a promising start, Burke's professional career stalled and he was relegated to lower grade football with Easts and Balmain. Matt Burke (born March 25, 1976) is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He was also previously the run game coordinator/defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, the linebackers coach for the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals, an assistant with the Tennessee Titans, and a defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals. Playing career Burke played safety at Dartmouth and was part of an undefeated Ivy League championship team in 1996. Elections were held on November 2, 2010, to determine Washington's nine members of the United States House of Representatives. Representatives were elected for two-year terms to serve in the 112th Congress from January 3, 2011, until January 3, 2013. Nonpartisan blanket primary elections were held on August 17, 2010. Of the nine elections, the races in the 2nd, 3rd and 8th districts were rated as competitive by ''CQ Politics'', ''The Rothenberg Political Report'' and ''Sabato's Crystal Ball'', while ''The Cook Political Report'' rated the 2nd, 3rd, 8th and 9th districts as competitive. Every incumbent was re-elected, with the exception of Democrat Brian Baird, the U.S. representative for Washington's 3rd congressional district, who retired rather than seeking re-election. Matthew Burke (born 4 February 1997) is an Irish rugby union player who is currently a member of the Connacht academy. He plays as a prop, and represents Corinthians in the All-Ireland League. Early life Born in Lewisham, London, Burke moved to Ireland when he was one year old, settling in Ballinrobe, County Mayo, where his fathers parents were from. He first began playing rugby aged 6 with the local club in Ballinrobe, before joining Galwegians in 2015, and represented Connacht at various age grade levels, as well as winning a cap for the Ireland schoolboys team in February 2015. Following this, he made his way across town to play more competitive adult rugby for Corinthians RFC. Taggart (series)
''Taggart'' is a Scottish detective fiction television programme created by Glenn Chandler, who wrote many of the episodes, and made by STV Studios for the ITV network. It originally ran as the miniseries "Killer" from 6 until 20 September 1983, before a full series was commissioned that ran from 2 July 1985 until 7 November 2010. The series revolved around a group of detectives initially in the Maryhill CID of Strathclyde Police, though various storylines were set in other parts of Greater Glasgow and in other areas of Scotland. The team operated out of the fictional John Street police station. Mark McManus, who played the title character Jim Taggart, died in 1994. However, the series continued under the same name.
