Matrix Fitness Pro Cycling
Matrix Fitness (UCI code MAT) was a British cycling team which competed in road bicycle racing and track cycling events from 2009 to 2016. For the 2015 season the team registered as a UCI Women's Team, the top level of professional women's cycling, so could compete in elite international events including the UCI Women's Road World Cup. The team was sponsored by Matrix Fitness, Milltag, and Vulpine. Team history 2014 The team announced that in 2015 they would become a UCI Women's team. Trek will sponsor the team for the first season in the top division of Women's cycling, with the team riding the same bikes as the men's team. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on Road surface, paved roads. Christina Malling Siggaard (born 24 March 1994) is a Danish former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2014 and 2021 for the Firefighters Upsala CK, , and teams. Joanna Rowsell
Joanna Katie Rowsell MBE (born 5 December 1988) is a retired English cyclist on the Great Britain Cycling Team who competed on track and road. Her greatest successes were the gold medals won in the women's team pursuit at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics as well as five World Championship titles, four in the team pursuit (2008, 2009, 2012 and 2014) plus one in the individual pursuit at the 2014 World Championships. She currently holds the World Record in the 3 km team pursuit. Rowsell first came to national prominence as a winner of junior national competitions in 2005/2006. Danielle 'Dani' Rowe MBE (née King; born 21 November 1990) is a British former road and track cyclist. She retired from cycling in December 2018. A team pursuit gold medallist from the London Olympics in 2012, Rowe also won three consecutive world titles in the women's team pursuit, winning in 2011, (with Laura Trott and Wendy Houvenaghel), 2012 (with Trott and Joanna Rowsell), and 2013 (with Trott and Elinor Barker). Jessie Walker (born 20 September 1994) is an English professional racing cyclist. After riding for the team for four seasons, she joined the RST Racing Team in May 2015. However, in June 2015 she joined Servetto Footon for the remainder of the 2015 season. In October 2016 she announced that she would take a break from racing in the 2017 season after her time with Servetto Footon, which she described as "frustrating" and "demoralising" due to a lack of support from the team, stating that she had not been paid by them, and had depended on financial support from the Dave Rayner Fund. Penelope "Penny" Rowson (born 3 May 1992) is a British former professional racing cyclist. Career After finishing 3rd in the 2009 Cheshire Classic Road Race, Rowson joined, in 2010, the Matrix Fitness professional team. In 2012, she became the first female winner of the Newport Nocturne cycling race. She left Matrix in 2013 and joined the cycling pro team run by the Breast Cancer Care charity.
