Harriet Owen (cyclist)
Harriet Owen (born 16 December 1993) is a British professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team . Career Born in Kirtlington, Oxfordshire, Owen was educated at Marlborough School, Woodstock. She joined the team from in 2013, leaving in 2016 to race criteriums in the United States. In 2019 she took third place in the Armed Forces Cycling Classic in the Crystal Cup behind Kendall Ryan (Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank) and Natalie Redmond (Fearless Femme Racing p-b Altam). Kirtlington
Kirtlington is a village and civil parish in Oxfordshire about west of Bicester. The parish includes the hamlet of Northbrook. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 988. The parish measures nearly north–south and about east–west. It is bounded by the River Cherwell to the west, and elsewhere mostly by field boundaries. In 1959 its area was . Archaeology The Portway is a pre-Roman road running parallel with the Cherwell on high ground about east of the river. It bisects Kirtlington parish and passes through the village. The Marlborough School is a coeducational Church of England secondary school in the market town of Woodstock, about northwest of Oxford. Criterium
A criterium, or crit, is a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit, the length of each lap or circuit ranging from about 400 m to 10,000 m. Overview Race length can be determined by a number of laps or total time, in which case the number of remaining laps is calculated as the race progresses. Generally the event's duration (commonly one hour) is shorter than that of a traditional road race — which can last many hours, sometimes over the course of several days or even weeks, as in a Grand Tour. However, the average speed and intensity are appreciably higher. The winner is the first rider to cross the finish line without having been "lapped". Events often have prizes (called ''primes'' and are usually cash) for winning specific intermediate laps (for instance, every 10th lap). Kendall Gail Ryan (born August 10, 1992) is an American racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental pro cycling team, L39ION of Los Angeles.
