Mark Andrew Mathias (born August 2, 1994) is an American professional baseball second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB). Tania Wyn Mathias (born 21 June 1964) is a British ophthalmologist and Conservative Party politician. She served as the Member of Parliament for Twickenham from May 2015 to June 2017. Early life and career Mathias was born in Kensington, London on 21 June 1964 and raised in Barnes. She was educated at St Paul's Girls' School, an all-girls independent school in Hammersmith, London. Ronald Cavill Mathias (1912–1968) was a Welsh trade union leader. Personal life Mathias was born on 21 September 1912 at Pontarddulais, Swansea, Wales. He attended Gowerton Grammar School. In 1938 he married Annie Ceridwen Hall and they had one daughter. He died on 15 April 1968 on a Mediterranean cruise and was buried at sea. James Goronwy Mathias
James Goronwy Mathias (1842–1895), also known under the pen name Goronwy Ddu, was a Baptist minister and writer. Religious life Mathias was born in Manchester but moved to Penrhyn-Coch when he was young. In 1873, he moved to Aberdare and joined Ynys-lwyd chapel, before moving to Rhymney Valley in 1874 to become pastor of Bethania chapel, Troedrhiw'r-fuwch. Clarence E. Mathias (December 12, 1876 – December 9, 1935) was an American Sergeant Major serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Boxer Rebellion who received the Medal of Honor for bravery. Charles McCurdy Mathias Jr. (July 24, 1922 – January 25, 2010) was an American politician and attorney. A Republican, he served as a member of the United States Senate, representing Maryland from 1969 to 1987. He was also a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1959 to 1961, and of the United States House of Representatives, representing the of Maryland from 1961 to 1969. Mathias Rust (born 1 June 1968) is a German aviator known for his flight that ended with a landing near Red Square in Moscow on 28 May 1987. A teenage amateur pilot, he flew from Helsinki, Finland, to Moscow, being tracked several times by Soviet Air Defence Forces and civilian air traffic controllers, as well as Soviet Air Force interceptor aircraft. The Soviet fighters did not receive permission to shoot him down, and his aeroplane was mistaken for a friendly aircraft several times. He landed on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge, next to Red Square near the Kremlin in the capital of the Soviet Union. Mathias Lerch (''Matyáš Lerch'', ) (20 February 1860, Milínov – 3 August 1922, Sušice) was a Czech mathematician who published about 250 papers, largely on mathematical analysis and number theory. Mathias Gnädinger (25 March 1941 – 3 April 2015) was a Swiss stage and film actor. Career Initially a typesetter and typographer, Gnädinger began his acting training at the ''Bühnenstudio Zürich'' (now part of the Zurich University of the Arts) from 1962 to 1966. His first role in Swiss television was in 1968. He starred in ''Leo Sonnyboy'', '' Das Boot ist voll'', '' Journey of Hope'' and the Austrian-German-Swiss co-production ''Kinder der Landstrasse''.
