Math-O-Vision
Math-O-Vision is an applied mathematics movie contest open to students who are legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, at least 13 years of age and are registered in high school (grades 9-12) or equivalent home school program at time of entry. Movies are created using a wide variety of techniques, including animation. The contest is sponsored by the William H. Neukom Institute for Computational Science as well as the Dartmouth College Math Department based in Hanover, New Hampshire. The competition awarded a total of $8,500 in prizes in its first year, 2012-13. The contest began in 2012 with approximately 50 movies entered. Inaugural year winners were announced May 15, 2013. The second year of the contest began November 1, 2013 and ended May 15, 2014. Contest Teams are challenged to create 4-minute movies which are uploaded online. Alan Alda
Alan Alda (; born Alphonso Joseph D'Abruzzo; January 28, 1936) is an American actor, screenwriter, and director. A six-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner, he is best known for playing Captain Benjamin "Hawkeye" Pierce in the war comedy-drama television series ''M*A*S*H'' (1972–1983). Animation is a method by which image, still figures are manipulated to appear as Motion picture, moving images. In traditional animation, images are drawn or painted by hand on transparent cel, celluloid sheets to be photographed and exhibited on film. Dartmouth College

Hanover is a town located along the Connecticut River in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 11,870. Donald In Mathmagic Land
''Donald in Mathmagic Land'' is a 1959 American animated-live-action featurette produced by Walt Disney Productions and featuring Donald Duck. The short was directed by Hamilton Luske (with Wolfgang Reitherman, Les Clark, and Joshua Meador as sequence directors) and was released on June 26, 1959. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject) at the 32nd Academy Awards, and became a widely viewed educational film in American schools of the 1960s and beyond. Tom Sito
Tom Sito (born May 19, 1956) is an American animator, animation historian and teacher. He is currently a Professor at USC's School of Cinematic Arts in the Animation Division. In 1998, Sito was included by ''Animation Magazine'' in their list of the One Hundred Most Important People in Animation.''Animation Magazine'', November 1998. Early life Tom Sito was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the son of a fireman. Sito first began studying animation while attending cartooning classes at the High School of Art and Design. Steven Strogatz
Steven Henry Strogatz (), born August 13, 1959, is an American mathematician and the Jacob Gould Schurman Professor of Applied Mathematics at Cornell University.
