Halifax Township is a township in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,336 at the 2020 census. History Halifax Township takes its name from Fort Halifax on the Susquehanna River. The Clemson Island Prehistoric District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. The Legislative Route 1 Sycamore Allee was listed in 2007. Geography Halifax Township is in northwestern Dauphin County and is bordered by the Susquehanna River to the northwest, Berry Mountain to the north, and Peters Mountain to the south. The county seat and the largest city is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's state capital and ninth largest city.
