Massacre (briefly known as Massacre X and Gods of Death) is an American death metal band. They were formed in 1984 by Allen West, Bill Andrews, and Mike Borders, soon after vocalist Kam Lee joined. The band has reunited several times with varying line-ups, most recently in late 2016. History Massacre were formed in 1984 by Allen West (guitar), Bill Andrews (drums), Mike Borders (bass) and soon joined by Kam Lee. After their first demo their line-up settled with Rick Rozz (formerly of Mantas, an early incarnation of Death) on guitar, and bassist Terry Butler. They disbanded and re-united again several times. In 1987, Rozz, Andrews and Butler joined Death,. After being fired by Death in 1989, Rick Rozz reformed Massacre with Lee and they managed to get a deal with Earache records, finally managing to release their 1991 debut album '' From Beyond'', followed by an EP a year later (featuring Cronos of Venom). From Beyond (Massacre Album)
''From Beyond'' is the debut studio album by American death metal band Massacre, released in 1991 on Earache Records. The album was re-released with a different cover (original is red) and the ''Inhuman Condition'' EP as bonus tracks. The album was recorded in March 1991 at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida. "Corpsegrinder" was originally recorded by the band Death, of which all members of Massacre have been a part in the past. The album's title is based on H. P. Lovecraft's the short story of the same name, and the cover art was painted by Ed Repka. The band's vocalist, Kam Lee, hates the original pink album cover art done by Ed Repka and the changing of the band logo as he claims it "looks like the Superman logo." Terry Butler
Terry Butler is an American bassist who currently performs with the death metal bands Obituary and Inhuman Condition. He was also a member of Six Feet Under, Massacre and Death. He was credited on the Death album ''Spiritual Healing'', and band leader Chuck Schuldiner stated that on the latter Death album "Terry contributed to the songwriting as well". He is married with three children, and is brother-in-law of former bandmate Greg Gall. Before he joined Six Feet Under, he was in Massacre with Rick Rozz, whom he played with in ''Leprosy''-era Death. In an interview, Butler has stated: "I'd rather be popular in the underground, than be unknown in the mainstream." Whiplash is an American thrash metal band formed in 1984 in Passaic, New Jersey. The band has been centered around guitarist and vocalist Tony Portaro, who is the only constant member of the lineup. Zero Hour (band)
Zero Hour is an American progressive metal band formed by twin brothers Jasun Tipton and Troy Tipton in Pleasanton, California, United States, in 1993. They released their self-titled debut album independently in 1999, and followed it up with 2001's ''The Towers of Avarice,'' their first album on the Sensory Records label, which also released all of their subsequent albums. Following 2003's ''Metamorphosis'' (a re-recording of their first record)'','' original singer Erik Rosvold was replaced by Fred Marshall, who appeared on ''A Fragile Mind'', released in 2005. Nasty Savage is an American thrash metal band from Brandon, Florida, formed in 1983 by vocalist "Nasty" Ronnie Galletti. The band has undergone various lineup changes, with Galletti and guitarist David Austin remaining the only constant members, until the latter's departure in 2022. Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Miland "Mille" Petrozza, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq. The band's lineup has changed multiple times over its -year career, most noticeably with their bassists and lead guitarists. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and spent his formative years in Altamonte Springs, Florida, attending Lake Brantley High School.
