"In the scene where Mounir, dressed in an elegant suit, accompanies new best friends Rédouane and Hamza on a trip out of town to scam a pair of gullible shepherds out of their money, our sympathies are drawn to the innocent shepherds immediately, in part by use of a tight close-up that fills the screen entirely with the sincere and modest face of one of the two men. We also get a reverse-shot of Rédouane in close-up, but by contrast, Rédouane wears a phony, ingratiating expression. The Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Festival panafricain du cinéma et de la télévision de Ouagadougou or FESPACO) is a film festival in Burkina Faso, held biennially in Ouagadougou, where the organization is based. It accepts for competition only films by African filmmakers and chiefly produced in Africa. FESPACO is scheduled in March every second year, two weeks after the last Saturday of February.
