Mashonaland Eagles
The Mashonaland Eagles is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are based in the Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland Central area and play both first-class and limited overs cricket. They play their home matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare. Franchise history In the 2009–10 season, Zimbabwe Cricket following the decline of the standard of cricket, decided to use a new set of teams in all the first-class, List A and T20 domestic formats of the game. A total of 5 teams were named, and the Mashonaland Eagles franchise was based in Harare. 2009–10 Logan Cup Coming into this tournament, Mash Eagles were the favourites. They performed according to expectations by winning the tournament, by drawing the Mid West Rhinos in the final (they finished winners in virtue of finishing top of the group pool, and also coming first in the group. Ryan Ten Doeschate
Ryan Neil ten Doeschate (; born 30 June 1980) is a former Dutch–South African cricketer who played for the Netherlands national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. Ten Doeschate was named ICC Associate Player of the Year on a record three occasions, in 2008, 2010, and 2011. Born and raised in South Africa, ten Doeschate signed with Essex County Cricket Club in England for the 2003 English season, qualifying through his Dutch citizenship as a domestic player. A right-handed all-rounder, he first represented the Dutch national team in the 2005 ICC Trophy, and played a number of tournaments for the side, including the 2009 World Twenty20 and 2011 World Cup. Ryan Butterworth
Ryan Eric Butterworth (born 14 April 1981) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer who played for the Mashonaland Eagles. He is a right-handed batsman, and right-arm medium-pace bowler, and is described as a batting all-rounder. Butterworth attended Gateway Primary School in Harare, where his cricketing ability was immediately apparent, as he captained the team during most of his time there. His best performances with both bat and ball came against Eaglesvale School, against whom he scored 96 not out and claimed eight wickets in separate matches. In 1993, he was captain of the Harare Schools B team in national primary schools week. He advanced to Prince Edward School, where he also captained teams throughout his years at the school, although cricket was not his main sport, instead taking third place behind swimming and triathlon. Elton Chigumbura
Elton Chigumbura (born 14 March 1986) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer, who played for Zimbabwe national cricket team between 2004 and 2020. He was educated at Churchill School (Harare) and made his debut at the age of 18, amidst the rebel crisis and has played 14 Test matches. Chigumbura is the most capped player in the current ODI squad with more than 200 caps. In May 2015 Chigumbura made his maiden ODI century, against Pakistan in Lahore, in his 174th ODI match. With more than 4000 runs and 100 wickets in ODIs, he is widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe's greatest all-rounders. 2009–10 Logan Cup
The 2009–10 Logan Cup was a first-class cricket competition held in Zimbabwe from 14 September 2009 – 3 April 2010. It was won by the Mashonaland Eagles, who won due to finishing top of the table during the league stage of the competition, after drawing the final against the Mid West Rhinos. The tournament was the first contesting of the Logan Cup to be played following a restructure of Zimbabwean cricket that resulted in five franchises, the Mashonaland Eagles, Matabeleland Tuskers, Mid West Rhinos, Mountaineers and Southern Rocks. The competition was originally scheduled to start in late August, but was delayed by three weeks as a number of the franchises had not completed signing players by that stage. Southern Rocks
The Southern Rocks is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team, based in the Masvingo and Matabeleland South area. They play their home matches at Masvingo Sports Club in Masvingo. The team initially ceased to play after the 2013–14 season. In their 47 first-class matches they won 3, lost 27, and drew 17. However, in December 2020, Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed they would be one of the teams playing in the 2020–21 Logan Cup Southern Rocks won their first Logan Cup trophy in the same 2020–21 season . Paul James Horton (born 20 September 1982 in Sydney, Australia) is a retired former cricketer who played for Lancashire and Leicestershire in England and Matabeleland Tuskers in Zimbabwe. Peter David Trego (born 12 June 1981) is a former English cricketer who played primarily for Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler. He is a big hitting all-rounder who is capable of taking a one-day match away from opposing teams in the latter stages. Rory James Hamilton-Brown (born 3 September 1987) is a former English first-class cricketer who last played for Sussex. Previously, he was captain of Surrey until August 2012. Rakep Patel
Rakep Patel (born 12 July 1989) was a Kenyan international cricketer. A product of the Nairobi Gymkhana Club, he was a Wicket-Keeper–Batsman who played right-handed, but also occasionally bowled off spin. Forster Mutizwa
Forster Mutizwa (born 24 August 1985) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer. He played as a lower middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper. Playing career He was first called up to the national team for a tour of Bangladesh, and subsequently made his international debut in a One Day International against Kenya cricket team, Kenya on 27 January 2009.
