Mascouche Line
Mascouche (also designated exo5, known during planning as Repentigny–Mascouche) is a commuter railway line in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by Exo, the organization that operates public transport services across this region. Opened on December 1, 2014, by Exo's predecessor agency, the Agence Métropolitaine de transport (AMT), the Montreal region's sixth commuter train line required the construction of 10 new train stations, several civil engineering structures and 13 km of new railway track. This includes some track in the median of the A 640 between Repentigny and Mascouche. Beginning on May 11, 2020, the Mascouche line was rerouted around the Mount Royal Tunnel, bypassing and stations due to the construction of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM). Ahuntsic Railway Station
Ahuntsic station is a former intercity railway station in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was an unstaffed shelter that served as an optional stop for two Via Rail routes running from Montreal. It was located on Durham Avenue, near the Sauvé metro station; the RTM Mascouche commuter rail line stops at the Sauvé station nearby. On July 3, 2017, Via Rail ceased serving Ahuntsic and L'Assomption stations, and began serving Sauvé and Anjou stations instead. Bombardier MultiLevel Coach
The Bombardier MultiLevel Coach is a bi-level passenger rail car manufactured by Bombardier for use on commuter rail lines. The first units were delivered in 2006 and deliveries (in various orders) continued to 2014. Overview There are 643 of these coaches in service as of 2015 on NJ Transit, Exo, and MARC. NJ Transit received 429 cars, including 62 cab cars, while Exo's predecessor, Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT), received 160 cars, including 26 cab cars. The MARC order consists of 39 trailers and 15 cab cars for a total of 54 cars. The coaches were based on the Comet V and have a two-by-two seating arrangement and more knee and leg room than single-level coaches. The Bombardier ALP-45DP is a type of single cab dual-mode locomotive built by Bombardier Transportation (later Alstom) and operated by New Jersey Transit and Exo. Operators New Jersey Transit New Jersey Transit (NJT) purchased 26 ALP-45DPs in 2008, with an option to purchase up to 63 additional units. Line 6 (Montreal Metro)
Line 6 was a proposed surface-running line of the Montreal Metro. Unlike the rubber-tire technology used on the Metro's current lines, Line 6's trains would have run on steel wheels. Planned as the first of a series of new "regional metro" lines along existing railways in 1979 (similar in concept to the Paris RER and San Francisco BART), the Ministère de Transport du Québec (MTQ) expected Line 6 to begin service along 23.3 km of Canadian National railway tracks by 1989.
