Marzieh Vafamehr
__NOTOC__ Marzieh Vafamehr ( fa, مرضیه وفامهر) is an Iranian independent filmmaker, actress, social and women's rights activist living in Tehran. She has been active in the One Million Signatures campaign in Iran for more than twenty years. Biography Marzieh Vafamehr is married to film director and screenwriter Nasser Taghvai. She was arrested on 29 June 2011, reportedly due to her role in Granaz Moussavi's 2009 Iranian-Australian film ''My Tehran for Sale'' that is critical of her native Iran. She was released on 24 October 2011, after posting unspecified bail. It was reported that she was sentenced to 90 lashes and a year in prison. On 27 October 2011, Amnesty International reported that an Iranian appeals court had reduced Vafamehr's prison sentence to three months and overturned the flogging sentence. Tehran
Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran. Iranian Revolution
The Iranian Revolution ( fa, انقلاب ایران, Enqelâb-e Irân, ), also known as the Islamic Revolution ( fa, انقلاب اسلامی, Enqelâb-e Eslâmī), was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the replacement of his government with an Islamic republic under the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolt. The revolution was supported by various Organizations of the Iranian Revolution, leftist and Islamist organizations. After the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, Pahlavi had aligned with the United States and the Western Bloc to rule more firmly as an authoritarian monarch. Hossein Shahabi
Hossein Shahabi ( fa, ; 28 November 1967 – 22 January 2023) was an Iranian film director, screenwriter and film producer. Biography Shahabi has got Cinema Directing master's degree and Classical Music B.A from Tehran University. After graduation from Tehran University in classical music studies, he spent a few years teaching music. In 1996 he made his first (short) film (Hundred Times Hundred), on the occasion of 100th anniversary of cinema, and received a prize at the (one off) festival, established for the same occasion. Since then he has written, directed and produced 20 shorts, 10 fictional features (for video release in the Iranian market) and 5 features, for the theatrical release, some of them won prizes in the local and international film festivals. Qarchak Prison ( fa, زندان قرچک, Zendân-e-Qarchak) is a prison for women located in Qarchak, in Qarchak County, previously part of Varamin County, Tehran Province, Iran (30 km SSE of the capital).
