Maryland Route 318
Maryland Route 318 (MD 318) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. The state highway runs from MD 16/ MD 331 at Preston east to the Delaware state line near Federalsburg, where the highway continues east as Delaware Route 18 (DE 18). MD 318 connects Federalsburg with Preston and Bridgeville, Delaware. The state highway follows the Dorchester– Caroline county line for most of its length between Linchester and Federalsburg. The county line road is considered to be in Caroline County for maintenance purposes. Further east, MD 318 runs concurrently with MD 313 to bypass Federalsburg. The portion of MD 318 west of Federalsburg was originally numbered Maryland Route 319 and assumed by MD 318 in the mid-1950s. Maryland Route 313 (MD 313) is a state highway located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the United States. The route runs from U.S. Route 50 (US 50) in Mardela Springs, Wicomico County north to MD 213 and MD 290 in Galena, Kent County. Maryland has an extensive system of state highways, exclusive of the national Interstate and U.S. highway systems, that serves all 23 counties and the independent city of Baltimore, almost every incorporated city, town, and village, and most unincorporated places in the state. Maryland And Delaware Railroad
The Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company is a Class III short-line railroad, formed in 1977 to operate several branch lines of the former Penn Central Railroad in both Maryland and Delaware, United States. These branches were omitted from the system plan for Conrail in 1976 and would have been discontinued without state subsidies. As an alternative to the higher cost of subsidizing Conrail as the operator of the branch lines, the Maryland and Delaware governments selected the Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company (MDDE) to serve as the designated operator. The railroad did not own any of the track it uses until 2000 when it acquired a line between Frankford, Delaware and Snow Hill, Maryland, from the Snow Hill Shippers Association. Maryland Route 307 (MD 307) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known for most of its length as Williamsburg Road, the state highway runs from MD 331 in Hurlock north to the end of state maintenance at Charles Street a short distance east of the intersection with MD 313/ MD 318 in Federalsburg. MD 307 was one of the first highways completed by the Maryland State Roads Commission when the Hurlock–Federalsburg Road was constructed in 1910.
