The state highway, which was originally designated part of MD 155, was built as a modern highway by 1910 and rebuilt in the 1920s. Churchville is an unincorporated community in Harford County, Maryland, United States, situated between the county seat, Bel Air, and Aberdeen, where Aberdeen Proving Ground is located. Population The population of the area is 2,818. History and Lower Cross Roads Because it links Bel Air and Aberdeen (and indirectly, the only other incorporated town in Harford County, Havre de Grace), Churchville was once known in colonial times as Lower Cross Roads. Harford County is located in the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2020 census, the population was 260,924. Its county seat is Bel Air. Harford County is included in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA Combined Statistical Area. Maryland Route 155 (MD 155) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known for most of its length as Level Road, the state highway runs from MD 22 in Churchville east to U.S. Route 40 (US 40) and MD 7 in Havre de Grace. In conjunction with MD 22, MD 155 serves as the main highway linking Bel Air and Havre de Grace in eastern Harford County. The state highway also connects Havre de Grace with Interstate 95 (I-95) and Susquehanna State Park. Harford County Airport
Harford County Airport is a public airport located in the unincorporated community of Churchville, in Harford County, Maryland, United States. Harford County Airport is a general aviation (GA) airport in northern Maryland that serves primarily recreational pilots. There used to be three runways at Harford, two turf/grass runways 01/19 and 14/32, as well as one paved/asphalt runway 10/28. As part of a major expansion project, in September of 2018, the turf runway 14/32 was permanently closed to make room for a paved parking area and new hangars. At the same time, runway 01/19 was closed to be paved and extended from 2000 feet to 2856 feet. In April of 2020, the new runway 01/19 opened to traffic.
