Maryam d'Abo is a British actress, best known as Bond girl Kara Milovy in the 1987 James Bond film ''The Living Daylights''. Early life and education Born in London to Georgian mother Nino Kvinitadze, daughter of General Giorgi Kvinitadze, and Anglo-Dutch father Peter Claude Holland d'Abo, of a landed gentry family of West Wratting, Cambridgeshire. d'Abo was raised in Paris and Geneva. D’Abo was drawing from the age of eight, but by 13 wanted to become an actress; she joined an amateur theatre company while at school in Geneva. An au pair (; plural: au pairs) is a helper from a foreign country working for, and living as part of, a host family. Typically, au pairs take on a share of the family's responsibility for childcare as well as some housework, and receive a monetary allowance or stipend for personal use. Au pair arrangements are often subject to government restrictions which specify an age range usually from mid-late teens to mid to late twenties, and may explicitly limit the arrangement to females. ''Cyrano de Bergerac'' is a play written in 1897 by Edmond Rostand. There was a real Cyrano de Bergerac, and the play is a fictionalisation following the broad outlines of his life. The entire play is written in verse, in rhyming couplets of twelve syllables per line, very close to the classical alexandrine form, but the verses sometimes lack a caesura. It is also meticulously researched, down to the names of the members of the Académie française and the ''dames précieuses'' glimpsed before the performance in the first scene. The play has been translated and performed many times, and it is responsible for introducing the word ''panache'' into the English language. The character of Cyrano himself makes reference to "my panache" in the play. The most famous English translations are those by Brian Hooker, Anthony Burgess, and Louis Untermeyer. Sydney Irwin Pollack (July 1, 1934 – May 26, 2008) was an American film director, producer and actor.
