Mary-Jean O'Doherty
Mary-Jean Anaïs O'Doherty is an Australian-American coloratura soprano. She was the first prize winner in the 2013 Paris Opera Awards. Life and career O'Doherty was born in Houston, Texas, to an Australian father and an Armenians, Armenian mother, Eliza Basmadjian, from Greece. She was educated at North Carolina School of the Arts and East Carolina University from which she received her Bachelor of Music degree in voice and flute performance as well as Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2005. She was one of the 20 finalists in the 2006 Operatunity Oz talent search. O'Doherty won the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards, ABC Symphony Australia Young Vocalist Award in 2007 and the following year was the first recipient of the Australian International Opera Award which included a scholarship to study at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice under the direction of Dennis O'Neill (tenor), Dennis O'Neill. The Paris Opera Awards (POA) is an international contest for opera singers held in Paris, France. It is held under the patronage of the French representation at the European Commission. "LoveWave" is a song by Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan. Premiered on March 2, 2016, it was released as a single on March 30, 2016. It represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. "LoveWave" was written by Mukuchyan, Stephanie Crutchfield, Lilith Navasardyan and Levon Navasardyan. To promote the song, an accompanying music video was released and co-stars Mukuchyan and Swedish model Ben Dahlhaus. Background and release On October 13, 2015, the Public Television of Armenia announced Mukuchyan as the Armenian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. Iveta Mukuchyan
Iveta Mukuchyan ( hy, Իվետա Մուկուչյան, ; born 14 October 1986) is an Armenian singer. Born in Yerevan, Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, she moved to Hamburg, Germany, in 1992. Mukuchyan returned to Armenia in 2009 and placed fifth in the fourth season of the talent competition ''Hay Superstar''. During this time, she received vocal training at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. Mukuchyan also participated for season two of ''The Voice of Germany'' in 2012. She represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "LoveWave", finishing seventh in the final.
