Martinlaakso
Martinlaakso ( sv, Mårtensdal) is a district in Vantaa, Finland. Located in the Myyrmäki major region, it is the second most populous district in all of Vantaa, after Myyrmäki itself. In 2014, Martinlaakso had a population of 11,811, narrowly beating out Hakunila. Martinlaakso has two railway stations, Martinlaakso railway station and Vantaankoski railway station, as well as a medical center, several shopping areas, and a comprehensive school (lower level yearsand upper level hree years and an upper secondary school. It is the birthplace of former Formula One drivers Mika Häkkinen and Mika Salo. Current Formula One star Kimi Räikkönen also spent a part of his childhood in Martinlaakso. Vantaankoski Railway Station
Vantaankoski railway station ( fi, Vantaankosken rautatieasema, sv, Vandaforsens järnvägsstation) is a Helsinki commuter rail station located in Vantaa, Finland. It is approximately north of the Helsinki Central railway station. The station is part of the Ring Rail Line (Kehärata) route, which links Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and central Vantaa with the Helsinki commuter train network. The station was the northbound terminus for the M commuter line from central Helsinki until 2015. The next station to the south is Martinlaakso, which was the northern terminus of the M line until the construction of Vantaankoski in 1991. Helsinki commuter rail ( fi, Helsingin seudun lähijunaliikenne, sv, Huvudstadsregionens närtrafik) is a commuter rail system serving Greater Helsinki and the surrounding county of Uusimaa. The system is a joint venture between the regional transport authority HSL and national railway operator VR. The system operates on four railway lines and comprises 13 services, all of which terminate at Helsinki Central Station. Within the HSL region, tickets and timetables are fully integrated with other modes of public transport. Ring Rail Line
The Ring Rail Line ( fi, Kehärata, sv, Ringbanan; formerly ''Marjarata'') is a railway route in the area of the city of Vantaa, in the Greater Helsinki Metropolitan Area of Finland. It connects Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and the adjacent Aviapolis business and retail district to the Helsinki commuter rail network. The line fills the gap between Vantaankoski and Tikkurila railway stations, travelling in tunnel underneath the airport. The line started operating on 1 July 2015. History The founding stone of the line was laid on 3 March 2009, and construction was started on 13 May 2009 with the excavation of service tunnels. Tikkurila (; sv, Dickursby) is a district and major region of the municipality of Vantaa, Finland. Located in the eastern half of the Helsinki conurbation, some north of the capital's downtown district, it is the administrative and commercial hub of Vantaa, although Myyrmäki is a rival commercial hub within the municipality.
