Martin Muhr
Martin Muhr (born June 17, 1971) is a strongman from Germany. He participated in the World's Strongest Man finals of 2000 and 2001. Biography Muhr was born in Bad Kötzting, Bavaria. In 1998 he was invited to the World's Strongest Man for the first time but did not make it past the qualifying heats. At the 2000 World's Strongest Man he finished second in his qualifying group which placed him in the final where he would finish sixth. A year later he was invited again and made it to the final once again and finished fifth. His best result at the World's Strongest Man. In 2001 he also placed second in Germany's Strongest Man. Bad Kötzting
Bad Kötzting (; before 2005: Kötzting; Northern Bavarian: ''Bad Ketzing'') is a town in the district of Cham, in Bavaria, Germany, near the Czech border. It is situated in the Bavarian Forest, southeast of Cham. Overview Bad Kötzting has the charming character of a small town and offers quite a variety of attractions for tourists. In the 19th century, the term strongman referred to an exhibitor of strength or similar circus performers who performed feats of strength. More recently, strength athletics, also known as strongman competitions, have grown in popularity. These competitions are now composed of a variety of events in which competitors have to move the highest weights possible, the winner being the one having the highest tally across all events. The 1998 World's Strongest Man was the 21st edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Magnus Samuelsson from Sweden. It was his first title after finishing third the previous year. 1997 champion Jouko Ahola from Finland finished second, and Wout Zijlstra from the Netherlands finished third. This year had 10 qualifying heats with the winner of each heat going onto the finals.
