Marthen Douw
Marthen Douw is a politician from Papua. He was elected as a member of the Indonesian Parliament for 2019–2024. He is the only member of the National Awakening Party from the national electoral district of Papua. Despite his young age, he was a member of the Regional Representative Council of the Nabire Regency for the period 2014–2019. The People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia ( id, Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Republik Indonesia, MPR-RI) is the legislative branch in Politics of Indonesia, Indonesia's political system. It is composed of the members of the People's Representative Council (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD). Before 2004, and the amendments to the Constitution of Indonesia, 1945 Constitution, the MPR was the highest governing body in Indonesia. The Regional Representative Council ( id, Dewan Perwakilan Daerah, DPD; alternatively translatable as the House of Regions or the House of Regional Representatives or the Senate of Indonesia), is one of two parliamentary chambers in Indonesia. Together with the People's Representative Council, ''Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat,'' (DPR), it makes up the Indonesian national legislative body, the People's Consultative Assembly, ''Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat'' (MPR). Papua (province)
Papua is a province of Indonesia, comprising the northern coast of Western New Guinea together with island groups in Cenderawasih Bay to the west.
