Marshyangdi
The Marshyangdi (or Marsyangdi) ( Nepali: , marśyāṅdī) is a mountain river in Nepal. Its length is about 150 kilometres. The Marshyangdi begins at the confluence of two mountain rivers, the Khangsar Khola and Jharsang Khola, northwest of the Annapurna massif at an altitude of 3600 meters near Manang village. The Marshyangdi flows eastward through Manang District and then southward through Lamjung District. Marshyangdi river has great potentiality for hydropower purpose and also for entertainment purpose such as rafting, kayaking. Daraundi River
The Daraudi River (or Daraundi Khola) is a river in Nepal. It is a left tributary of the Marshyangdi river, which in turn joins the Trishuli River. Hydroelectricity The flow from the Daraudi River is used to generate 6 MW electricity at the Daraudi A Hydropower Plant located in the former Muchok, Takumajh Lakuribot and Saurpani VDCs of Gorkha District. The plant has a catchment area upstream from the intake of , and long-term annual average flow at this point of . Upper Marsyandgi A Hydroelectric Station
Upper marsyangdi A Hydroelectric Station is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Bhulbhule of Lamjung district of western Nepal. The flow from Marshyangdi River is used to generate 50 MW electricity. The energy is evacuated by a 25 km long, 132 kv single circuit transmission line from Bhulbhule (powerhouse) to Middle Marsyangdi Hydropower Project. The project construction started in October 2012 and was expected to be completed in December 2015, but it was delayed due to the earthquake last year and the Indian blockade. First turbine was installed on 25 September 2016. The second turbine was added on 23 December 2016. It is the first project to use a vortex type settling basin. Middle Marsyandgi Hydropower Station (Nepali:मध्य मर्स्याङ्दी जलविद्युत आयोजना) is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Lamjung district of western Nepal. The flow from Marshyangdi River is used to generate 70 MW electricity. The plant is connected to the national grid of Nepal. The plant was set to be commissioned in 2004 but it was delayed by four years. The plant faces siltation problems from time to time. Marsyangdi Hydropower Station (मर्स्याङ्दी जलविद्युत आयोजना)is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Aanbukhaireni, Tanahu District of Nepal. The flow from the Marshyangdi River is used to generate 69 MW electricity and 462.5 GWh of annual energy. The rated net head is 90.5 m and rated flow is 30.5 m3/s. The plant is owned and operated by Nepal Electricity Authority. The plant started generating electricity since 1989AD. The power station is connected to the national grid. Finance The project was financed by a Nepal government in assistance from IDA, KFW, KFED, SFD, ADB and GON at a cost of US$22 million. Manang ( ne, मनाङ) is a town in the Manang District of Nepal. It is located at 28°40'0N 84°1'0E with an elevation of . According to the preliminary result of the 2011 Nepal census it has a population of 6,527 people living in 1,495 individual households. Its population density is 3 persons/km2.. It is situated in the broad valley of the Marshyangdi River to the north of the Annapurna mountain range. The river flows to the east. Mugling
Mugling (; sometimes known as Muglin) is a town in Chitwan, Bagmati Province, Nepal. Mugling is located at an interchange of two majors highways: Prithvi and Madan Ashrit Highway (also known as Mugling-Narayanghat Highway). Before the 1970s, Mugling was a fishing village at the confluence of Marshyangdi River and Trishuli River. Soon after the two highways were connected, the town saw a major transformation and became synonymised as a "town that never slept". Annapurna Circuit
The Annapurna Circuit is a trek within the mountain ranges of central Nepal. The total length of the route varies between 160–230 km (100-145 mi), depending on where motor transportation is used and where the trek is ended. This trek crosses two different river valleys and encircles the Annapurna Massif. The path reaches its highest point at Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 ft), reaching the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Most trekkers hike the route anticlockwise, as this way the daily altitude gain is slower, and crossing the high Thorong La pass is easier and safer. Trishuli River
The Trishuli River ( ne, त्रिशूली नदी) is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River basin in central Nepal. It originates in Tibet as a stream and enters Nepal at Gyirong Town. Etymology The Trishuli is named after the ''trishula'' or trident of Shiva, the most powerful god in the Hindu pantheon, There is a legend that says high in the Himalayas at Gosaikunda, Shiva drove his trident into the ground to create three springs – the source of the river and hence its name Trisuli. Annapurna
Annapurna (; ne, अन्नपूर्ण) is a mountain situated in the Annapurna mountain range of Gandaki Province, north-central Nepal. It is the tenth highest mountain in the world at above sea level and is well known for the difficulty and danger involved in its ascent.
