Marsciano
Marsciano is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Perugia in the Italian region Umbria, located about 25 km south of Perugia. Marsciano borders the following municipalities: Collazzone, Deruta, Fratta Todina, Perugia, Piegaro, San Venanzo, Todi. The main church in the center of town is the neo-gothic style San Giovanni Battista. The facade of the 19th century Teatro Concordia serves as a portal to a modern cinema theater. Rivers The municipality is watered by the little Nestore River, a tributary of the Tiber. Marsciano's eastern border with neighboring Collazzone is marked by the River Tiber itself. Francesco Satolli
Francesco Satolli (21 July 1839 – 8 January 1910) was an Italian theologian, professor, cardinal, and the first Apostolic Delegate to the United States. Biography He was born on 21 July 1839, at Marsciano near Perugia. He was educated at the seminary of Perugia, ordained in 1862, and after receiving the doctorate at the Roman Sapienza university, was appointed in 1864 professor in the seminary of Perugia. In 1870 he became pastor at Marsciano and in 1872 went to Montecassino, where he remained two years. Called to Rome by Leo XIII in 1880, Satolli was appointed professor of dogmatic theology in the Propaganda Fide. In 1882 he was appointed professor at the Roman Seminary. San Giovanni Battista is a Gothic Revival-style, Roman Catholic church in Marsciano, in the province of Perugia, Umbria, Italy. Giancarlo Antognoni
Giancarlo Antognoni (; born 1 April 1954) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. A skillful and creative offensive playmaker, regarded as one of the best Italian players of all time in his position, he played most of his club career with Fiorentina, where he won the Coppa Italia and the Anglo-Italian League Cup in 1975. Teatro Concordia, Marsciano
The Teatro Concordia is a film and small-stage community theater in the town of Marsciano in the province of Perugia, region of Umbria, Italy. The seating and stage area of the theater hall itself is no longer the original 19th-century construction. Of the original structure, erected in 1873 by a private company "Della Concordia”, only the eclectic brick facade remains, designed by the engineer Nazarene Biscarini with both Neo-Romanesque and Gothic Revival architectural elements. The theater itself mostly burned down in a fire during the 1950s, but the brick facade survived. In 1986–1990, the Comune of Marsciano rebuilt a modern theater with 323 seats. It displays both movies and has a small stage for small performances. Walter Sabatini
Walter Sabatini (born 2 May 1955) is an Italian former football player turned director of football, who last worked as sporting director at Serie A club Salernitana. Playing career Sabatini made his professional debut with Perugia in 1973, playing at Serie B level with the Umbrian club. After a short stint at Varese, he was acquired by Roma in 1976, where he had the chance to make his Serie A debut. He successively returned at Perugia, where he was prevented from playing because of a muscular injury that did not allow him to play any games for two years, including a season with no appearances at Palermo.
