Marquette Law Review
The ''Marquette Law Review'' is a quarterly law review edited by students at Marquette University Law School. Articles, essays, and student-written notes and comments from the review are accessible in PDF format on its web site, as well as online through LexisNexis, Westlaw, and HeinOnline. Mission The review was established in 1916 as a way for the law school to "make known its ideals and communicate its spirit." It is the eighth-oldest law review in the nation. Since its founding, the review has been dedicated to "the publication of not only theoretical articles of the law, but articles of real practical aid to the practitioner." It has placed particular emphasis on legal issues in Wisconsin, which led former Wisconsin Chief Justice George R. Marquette University
Marquette University () is a Private university, private Society of Jesus, Jesuit research university in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Established by the Society of Jesus as Marquette College on August 28, 1881, it was founded by John Henni, John Martin Henni, the first Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Bishop of the diocese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The university was named after 17th-century missionary and explorer Father Jacques Marquette, SJ, with the intention to provide an affordable Catholic education to the area's emerging German American, German immigrant population. Edwin Meese III (born December 2, 1931) is an American attorney, law professor, author and member of the Republican Party who served in official capacities within the Ronald Reagan's gubernatorial administration (1967–1974), the Reagan presidential transition team (1980–81) and the Reagan administration (1981–1985). Following the 1984 election, he was considered for the position of White House Chief of Staff by President Reagan, but James Baker was chosen instead.
