Marlon Chaplin
Marlon Chaplin is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Ontario. He is known for playing with ''Broken Bricks'', '' Freeman Dre and the Kitchen Party'', '' Suitcase Sam'' and ''Ada Dahli''. He currently records and performs as his own self-titled project. Early life Marlon was born in Toronto, Ontario. He attended Etobicoke School of the Arts where he formed his band, Broken Bricks with collaborator Luka Kuplowski who now has his own solo project. Broken Bricks Broken Bricks released two albums ''Pasquale'' and ''Little Fugitives'' as well as a number of singles between 2009 and 2012. This culminated in a sold-out show at Lee's Palace at the release of ''Little Fugitives''. The group disbanded in 2014. Freeman Dre and the Kitchen Party Chaplin was a regular member of Freeman Dre and the Kitchen Party for many years. Suitcase Sam
Suitcase Sam is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. He is known for his self titled project, playing with a full band sometimes described as ''Suitcase Sam and the Suits'' or ''Suitcase Sam and his Orchestra''. Career Suitcase Sam, inspired by the 1920's Jazz Age and acts like Leon Redbone, released his first EP ''Get It To Go'' in 2010. He was originally signed with ''Pleasance Records''. The album was later adapted into a short film for BravoFACT under the same name. After joining Curve Music, ''Get It To Go'' was reissued in 2019. He has opened for acts like Courtney Barnett, Elliott Brood and Benjamin Booker. In 2019 on the Curve label, Suitcase Sam released ''Goodnight Riverdale Park'' to favourable reviews. The Lemon Bucket Orkestra is a Canadian self-described "Balkan-Klezmer- Gypsy-Party-Punk-Super Band" based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Early history Founding member Mark Marczyk met bartender and musician Michael Louis Johnson in 2009 after returning to Toronto from Kyiv, Ukraine. Johnson introduced Marczyk to the Gypsy-punk band Worldly Savages. Marczyk joined them on fiddle. It was at after parties for the Savages' shows that eventual members of the band, such as Tangi Ropars and Os Kar, joined in on late-night jam sessions. Eventually, the concept for the band was solidified during a conversation between founding members Mark Marczyk and Tangi Ropars in a Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto. Zeus (band)
Zeus is a Toronto-based Canadian indie rock band signed to the Arts & Crafts record label. Its members include Rob Drake, Carlin Nicholson, Mike O'Brien, and Neil Quin. The band have released three albums and one EP since 2009. They have also served as the backing band for Canadian musician Jason Collett. History O'Brien and Nicholson were childhood friends from Barrie, Ontario, and played in one another's first bands along with Afie Jurvanen. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (ESA) is a specialized public arts-academic high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located in Etobicoke, it has been housed in the former Royal York Collegiate Institute facility since 1983. Freeman Dre And The Kitchen Party
Freeman Dre and the Kitchen Party is a Folk Rock band from Toronto, Canada. Background Freeman Dre and the Kitchen Party is helmed by bandleader and singer-songwriter Andre (Dre) Flak. The origins of the band come from house parties where Dre and Lonny would play music in Dre's kitchen. The name "Kitchen Party" came from these parties, in the spirit of an east coast Kitchen Party or traditional Céilidh.
