Marlice Van Vuuren
Marlice Elretha Jansen van Vuuren (born 14 May 1976 as Marlice Elrethra van der Merwe) is a Namibian conservationist. Together with her husband Dr. Rudie van Vuuren, she runs the N/a’an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary in central Namibia. Van Vuuren has been working with animals in film productions since the age of 13; she has worked on a number of well known movies with various celebrities including Angelina Jolie. Her life is covered in the 2008 documentary "Marlice – A Vision for Africa" by Philip Selkirk. The conservation movement, also known as nature conservation, is a political, environmental, and social movement that seeks to manage and protect natural resources, including animal, fungus, and plant species as well as their habitat for the future. Conservationists are concerned with leaving the environment in a better state than the condition they found it in. Rudie Van Vuuren
Rudolf "Rudie" Jansen van Vuuren (born 20 September 1972) is a Namibian physician, conservationist and former sportsman who specialised in both cricket and rugby union. He is also a qualified medical doctor as well as an obstetrician and he has been treating HIV/AIDS patients. He has been at the forefront in fighting against HIV/AIDS in Namibia which is considered as a serious concern in the nation which has an estimated population of around five million. He was a part of the Namibian rugby union squads for the 1999 Rugby World Cup and 2003 Rugby World Cup. He also played in five matches out of the six matches during Namibia's 2003 Cricket World Cup campaign and opened the bowling in all the five matches he played. N/a’an Ku Sê Wildlife Sanctuary
The Naankuse Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary, also stylized ''Nǀaankusê'', is a wildlife sanctuary in central Namibia, situated outside Windhoek. Besides the sanctuary the establishment also runs a carnivore conservation research programme, the ''Clever Cubs'' pre-primary school, and a clinic for the San people. ''Nǀaankusê'' is a Juǀ'hoan word that means "God will protect us", or "God watches over us." The sanctuary opened in 2007. It is run by Namibian conservationist Marlice van Vuuren and her husband Rudie van Vuuren. Naankuse is funded by voluntary donations and relies on the time of volunteers to continue its projects. The Naankuse Foundation is based on a 10,000 hectare nature reserve. Tippi Benjamine Okanti Degré (born June 4, 1990) is a French woman best known for spending her youth in Namibia among wild animals and tribes people.
