Markéta Stadium
The Markéta Stadium (Czech - Plochodrážní stadion Markéta) is a 10,000-capacity multi-use stadium on U Vojtěšky in Břevnov, Prague, Czech Republic. The stadium has been the home of the Speedway Grand Prix of Czech Republic since 1997. The speedway track has a circumference of 353 metres (386 yards). The stadium opened during the 1930s as an athletics ground and is home to the athletics club PSK Olymp Praha and the Prague speedway team AK Marketa Praha. Since 1959, it has been hosting international speedway events and on an annual basis it also holds the Luboš Tomíček Memorial, named after the rider Luboš Tomíček Sr. In 2022, the stadium was selected as the first ever venue for 2022 SGP2. Břevnov
Břevnov () is a district in the west of Prague, located in Prague 6. The district is home to the Břevnov Monastery (Czech: ''Břevnovský klášter''). On the territory of Břevnov stems Brusnice brook. Břevnov was first mentioned in the 10th century. In 1907 was promoted to the city and since 1921 then became part of the City of Prague. Apart from the Břevnov monastery, we can find other remarkable buildings on the area. The building of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences is located in the north-western of Břevnov. The legend of this institute was its former director Otto Wichterle, to whom is devoted the monument in front of the building. Others are: Ladronka homestead, Hostinec U Kaštanu and Hotel Pyramida. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). 2022 SGP2
The 2022 SGP2 series was the 46th edition of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, FIM Individual Speedway Junior World Championship, Individual Under-21 World Championship. It was staged as the SGP2 class of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series after rights holders Discovery Channel, Discovery Sports Events took over promotional rights of the competition prior to the start of the season. The series was staged over three rounds at Prague, Cardiff and Torun. Poland's Mateusz Cierniak won the title, winning two of the three rounds in the process.
