Steinheim ( nds, Staime) is a town in Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC). Sports promoter Eddie Hearn is the PDC chairman. The PDC developed and holds several championship competitions, including the annual PDC World Darts Championship, the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, UK Open, Premier League, and Grand Slam. PDC European Tour
The PDC European Tour is a series of darts tournaments held across Europe organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. Starting in 2012 with five events, the number of events has steadily risen with eight held in 2013 and 2014, nine in 2015, ten in 2016, twelve in 2017, thirteen in both 2018 and 2019, and thirteen once more in 2020 (although that was reduced to four, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic), and only two events took place in 2021, with a return to thirteen events in 2022. These events see the top players on the PDC ProTour Order of Merit compete against players from six different regional qualifiers. Currently the prize fund for each tournament is £140,000, with £25,000 going to the winner. The 2016 German Darts Masters was the second of ten PDC European Tour events on the 2016 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Ballhausforum, Munich, Germany, between 26–28 March 2016. It featured a field of 48 players and £115,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, having beaten John Henderson 6–5 in the previous edition. He retained his title by defeating Peter Wright 6–4 in the final. James Wilson (darts Player)
James Wilson (born 25 February 1972) is an English darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation. Career BDO Wilson first rose to prominence in 2012 by winning several tournaments, rising to number four in the world and reaching the quarter-finals of the Winmau World Masters. Despite this, he was unseeded on his debut appearance at the World Championship and was drawn against top seed Stephen Bunting in round one, taking a 2–1 lead before eventually losing 2–3. Wilson followed up on his form in 2013, rising to second in the world and reaching the final of the World Masters beating Jan Dekker and Robbie Green en route to a 7–0 loss to Bunting. Ronnie “Ron” Meulenkamp (born 5 November 1988) is a Dutch darts player playing in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Meulenkamp was runner-up in both the 2011 Isle of Man Open and England Open. He was also a semi-finalist in the 2011 Mariflex Open, a quarter-finalist in the 2011 German Open and Belgium Open. He also enjoyed quarter-final spots in the 2010 Winmau World Masters and 2010 Zuiderduin Masters and reached the Last 16 in the 2011 BDO British Open and BDO International Open. Meulenkamp attempted to acquire a PDC tour card at Q School in January 2014, but failed to finish in the top four on any given day or in the top 24 on the Order of Merit.
