Mark Shulzhitskiy
Mark Olegovich Shulzhitskiy ( rus, Марк Оле́гович Шульжи́цкий, p=ˈmark ɐˈlʲɛɡəvʲɪtɕ ʂʊlˈʐɨtskʲɪj}, born 11 July 1989) is a Russian racing driver, who entered professional racing by winning a spot in a PlayStation 3 '' Gran Turismo'' competition. Career GT Academy Born in Vladivostok, Shulzhitskiy's racing career began in karting, but stalled at the age of sixteen, as there were no major racing circuits within the local area. After graduating from Far Eastern Federal University in 2011 with a degree in oriental studies, Shulzhitskiy became Nissan PlayStation GT Academy champion for Russia, winning the competition at Silverstone in 2012. OAK Racing is an endurance racing team specialising in sports prototypes based in Le Mans, France. In 2013 it won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 class and the 2013 FIA WEC World Champion drivers and teams on LMP2 class. 2014 European Le Mans Series
The 2014 European Le Mans Series season was the eleventh season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's European Le Mans Series. The five-event season began at Silverstone Circuit, in conjunction with the FIA World Endurance Championship, from 18–19 April and ended at Autódromo do Estoril on 19 October. In the lead LMP2 class, five different teams won the five races that were held during the 2014 season. The 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series season was the fourth season of the Blancpain Endurance Series. The season started on 12 April at Monza and ended on 21 September at the Nürburgring. The season featured five rounds, with each race lasting for a duration of three hours besides the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the 1000 km Nürburgring events. The main trophy of the series, the Pro Cup for drivers, was won by Laurens Vanthoor of the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT squad; Vanthoor won each of the last two races to be held during the season, winning at Spa with René Rast and Markus Winkelhock at the Nürburgring with César Ramos and Christopher Mies. GT Academy (also known as Nissan PlayStation GT Academy and NISMO PlayStation GT Academy as part of the Nissan partnership) was a television programme run by Nissan and Sony Interactive Entertainment, which provided an alternative route into real-life motorsport. GT Academy provided '' Gran Turismo'' gamers the chance to go from virtual to reality, from their PlayStation to a real-life professional racing career with Nissan. History In 2006, Nissan Europe general manager Darren Cox made a promotional deal with Sony Computer Entertainment UK that brought fans of PlayStation driving games for a day of driving in Nissan cars.
